How to get RVT to work? <-- by enabling Virtual Textures in project settings, you muppet....
Following the guide (https://docs.polygonflow.io/how-it-works/material-authoring#runtime-virtual-textures-rvt) I added a mesh downloaded from Quixel, which is computed and in content library. Adding this mesh, I cant edit the material to enable RVT. Whats up with that?

help says "Meshes downloaded from Quixel do not automatically use Dash materials."
guide says "This only works on Megascans assets and Poly Haven assets" ..um is Quixel the same as Megascans?
So its that one asset that wont work. With a polyhaven assets enabling the RVT makes the material into shiny black stuff.

maybe I'm missing something but is the correct behaviour for the Edit/Tools Panel to be locked to whatever was selected (not using the pin icon) so that to edit the material of a second mesh, the tool panel/Edit Material has to be deleted from the 3 dots menu?
oh i think this (shiny black) is caused because virtual texture was not enabled in project settings
Hey @BrunoMartelli 🙂
Let me try to explain here 🙂
1. Material Edit and thus RVT only works for individual Megascans assets, when using them from the FAB view or the Quixel view in the Dash Content Browser. (And also PolyHaven from the polyhaven view)
2. And to open Material edit, you should select and asset/surface in the viewport and then in the tools panel, in the top left, open the active tool list, and click Material Edit. That opens material edit for the selected material. Then if you want to open Material Edit for another material, you select that material and re-open Material Edit the same way from the Tools Panel
3. And ye you need to have virtual textures enabled in the project settings 😄
thankyou.
