Command to reboot Nvidia graphics

i get crashes sometimes and it'd be nice to hotkey or kde connect input a command to reboot the graphics so i don't have to reset the entire pc - with the attached system details in mind, what would i need to input please? it'd save time to avoid completely rebooting the pc

i'm actually in the middle of a situation where my second display is fine but my first display has crashed this is still bothering me it happens specifically when i'm playing persona 3 reload i sometimes lose game progress because of this it still happens now i tried disabling and reenabling the monitor it happened on, and this just froze the working monitor

what you could do is enable ssh server on your system and then use a laptop or another system to login your system and use commands like ujust fix-proton-hang (if that helps) to enable ssh use ujust toggle-ssh maybe reboot needed, use ssh yourusername@yourinternalIP (e.g. in my case "ssh [email protected] -> password) in the terminal to login your system. your terminal is then executing commands on the main gaming system

ditto, same issue with a 4090 and i9-13900k, latest build of non-game mode nvidia bazzite build at the moment i have such awful performance losses from windows to bazzite and so many bugs with wayland that i'm going to just buy an amd gpu

im sad to hear that but i can say in this special situation (i think maybe some people would consider me an amd fanboy, if its not too bad i like to support the underdog) with my 7900xtx everything is working (in my case, for me) just fine! Back in the days i used nvidia (my last was an GTX1080), i dont know exactly why i switched but in that time i was using it with Windows. Im so happy that i buyed AMD because i switched to linux, first debian, then opensuse and then bazzite and i was so happy to hear that amd is better supported and somewhat supports linux! im soory but my knowlegde is limited and i can not provide further support. maybe there is another solution as buying an new GPU but somethings comes to my mind: Have you checked if the displays are running with the correct refresh rate or maybe tried to lower it, i think on the secondary display lowering the refresh rate is not a big downstep. you could also try another port for the cable (who knows maybe the driver thinks different about them) or you could maybe switch from HDMI to Displayport or vice versa maybe also try to disable adaptive sync on the problematic display everything is in the regular screen settings from kde

it's a shame that amd hasn't released any cards to directly compete with the 4090 or 5090 yet, i think i'm going to wait till windows 10 end of life to switch i have tried all of these things :( my system just seems to just hate linux and vice versa

this command didn't really help i need something that just reboots the graphics driver altogether

super late reply that's my bad but i don't think it's possible after further research the driver is kinda just completely baked in the kernel and it relies on the kernel and the kernel relies on it you can't really just reboot a part of the kernel like that 😭 also a lot of bugs i was facing just... stopped? including the monitor freezing very odd behavior but idk, i wish you luck

rip ig that explains why it was impossible to find a real solution for a problem so common and generic
