IDEX 500 Y resonance

I want some feedback on the resonance on Y of this IDEX 500. We use this machine in our business and we don’t aim to have the most crazy graphs but needs to be reliable and well calibrated.

What do your x graphs looks like? How much tension? Unfortunately there’s so many factors that affect these graphs. Start with the basics. Equal belt tension and belt engagement length. Check for any loose wiring and bolts on tool heads. Loose or broken printed parts on tool heads gantry connectors. Loose ooze guards. Loose ptfe brackets. Make sure all of your rails are aligned and evenly tensioned. But I think the most overlooked is the umbilicals. Too many cable ties can be worse than too little. The routing of the umbilicals. Make sure they don’t interfere with each other. Is your machine enclosed? Make your shaper graphs in the same conditions as you print with. Hot end on, bed on at the temps you print with. Graphs can be very different cold to hot. I’m no expert and these are just a few things I worked out along the way. My graphs are decent but like most on here, are a work in progress. Theres some good belt tuning guides on here. Check them out.

No problems. You’ll get it sorted out. My graphs looked similar to yours at one point. This is a before and after. I’ve got it better than that now but these are the only photos on my phone. All but eliminated the hump at 125hz now. So don’t lose hope.

and what did you do to get these results?

Pretty much everything I described earlier. Aligned everything. Made sure nothing was loose or rattling. I did have to re print some of the tool head parts as I’d messed up with some heat inserts. I do have aluminium y belt connectors ( the ones that sit on top of the y carriage. I actually did these up quite tight as they were a source of vibration) . Get your x axis belt as good as you can before attempting the y belts. Have you used the realtime analysis tool?

I got my x to this point before I started with y. Mine is a 500 also.

Sorry I just noticed in the v core 4 thread that this was pre built for you. So most of what I suggested is probably not much help. Hopefully your supplier rectifies this for you.
