What value to use for g?

the question does not specify whether or not to take g as 10. So shouldn't we use 9.8 by default? However, the ans you get would be 3920 which is closer to 3900 (an incorrect option) than 4000 (the given option).

hmmm, in the ques. nothing is given like .....(nearest integer) or round off, so may be u could have tried with g=10 for the exact ans.

the question is just invalid atp hang on yeah this is correct but doesn't the actual mains paper say "use g=10m/s^2 unless instructed" at the start? or am i thinking about my coaching tests also i use 10 by default i rarely use 9.8

Also, using 9.8 would give 3920 I think. So yeah, you should use g=10 unless instructed (or if you spot an option that exactly matches with the 9.8 value)

okay, thanks guys So just to be clear, I use g=10 unless specified? yeah but usually you take the nearest value to the answer even if not specified right?

majority questions use 9.8 its more accurate, its only 10 when specified both answers would be correct
