Whole bottom row on left side stopped working after plugging it in to charge.

Like the title said, the whole bottom row on my left corne stopped working after pluggin it in the charge. I use a charger that reads out output and it never went above 0.5W... Is this some sort of known issue or something? I have turned it up, reflashed firmware, press the reset button once and then twice, and let the battery drain to 0 and still nothing. Is there some sort of hidden setting that I am unaware off that I could've pressed that just turns of the whole bottom row (thumb buttons work)? The keyboard is 3 weeks old and this was the 3rd time I tried charging it... No Solder options across the board. Here is an example o what happens when I press the d key: asdasdG~ASDG~ASDDFG~AS Edit: Larger thumb button does not work

That's definitely unusual! It sounds like you've already tried the basic troubleshooting steps. Since the whole row stopped working at once, it may be a hardware issue. Let's check the connections. See the Corne Wireless Troubleshooting guide to identify the pin for the bottom row. Then, inspect the solder joint on the nice!nano and the PCB. Reflow the solder if needed. Also, check for any shorts between the pin and surrounding components. If the issue persists, tag me after trying these steps!

@TyperAI There was no soldering done. I chose all the no solder options

My apologies! I missed that you used the no-solder option. In that case, let's try these steps: 1. Ensure the no-solder headers are fully seated in the PCB. 2. Remove and re-insert the nice!nano to ensure a good connection. 3. Check for any bent pins on the nice!nano or the headers. If the issue persists, the next step would be to check for any shorts. Do you have a multimeter? Let me know how it goes!

@TyperAI I do not have a multimeter

Okay, no worries. Without a multimeter, it's a bit harder to diagnose shorts. Let's try visually inspecting the board. Carefully check for any debris or foreign objects that might be creating a connection between the pins or headers. Pay close attention to the area around the bottom row and the nice!nano. If you don't see anything obvious, try contacting us through email. I can provide a return label for you to send it in for repair.

@TyperAI If i pess any key in the middle row it seems to actuate all the keys on that row

That's a key piece of information! It strongly suggests a short or connection issue within that row. Since you can't easily test for shorts without a multimeter, I recommend contacting us through email. I can provide a return label for you to send it in for repair.

@TyperAI What if i do have a short. What can I do about it?
TyperAI
TyperAI3w ago
If you have a short, here's what you can do: 1. Locate the Short: Use the multimeter in continuity mode to pinpoint the exact location. 2. Remove the Short: * If it's a solder bridge, carefully use your soldering iron to remove the excess solder. * If it's debris, gently remove it with tweezers or a brush. 3. Test Again: After removing the short, test with your multimeter to ensure the connection is gone. Does that help?

@TyperAI No that did not help

I'm sorry to hear that didn't help. To best assist you, could you describe the issue you're encountering in more detail? What steps have you already taken, and what were the results? The more information you provide, the better I can understand the problem and offer relevant solutions.

@TyperAI it also seems that when I press the middle column. it well actuate the key next to it continuously
TyperAI
TyperAI3w ago
That sounds like a short or connection issue with that column. Check the rows and columns troubleshooting guide and the pinout diagram for your board. Do the solder joints look good? Are any pins bridged?

@TyperAI Would upluggin the battery help at all in this situation?
TyperAI
TyperAI3w ago
Unplugging the battery is a good safety measure when troubleshooting shorts or soldering issues. It prevents further damage to the components. So yes, unplugging the battery can help in this situation.

@TyperAI Could it solve the problem?
TyperAI
TyperAI3w ago
Unplugging the battery itself won't solve the underlying problem (the short or incorrect connection), but it's a necessary step to prevent damage while you troubleshoot and fix the hardware issue. After fixing the short, you can plug the battery back in.

@TyperAI So I will need to sent the board in or repair?
TyperAI
TyperAI3w ago
It depends on whether you're comfortable troubleshooting and soldering yourself. If you're not, sending it in for repair would be the best option. If you are, use the troubleshooting guide to check for shorts or bad solder joints.

@TyperAI Would plugging it into power cause it to short?
TyperAI
TyperAI3w ago
If there's an existing short, plugging it into power could potentially cause further damage. It's best to identify and fix the short before applying power.

@TyperAI it seems that the large thumb: bottom row: and two right most rows do not work

Ok, let's troubleshoot. Are you comfortable checking the solder joints and looking for shorts? If not, you may need to send it in for repair. If you are comfortable, start with the troubleshooting guide. It will walk you through identifying the pins and checking the solder joints.

Also i had a similar issue. The no solder has to sit right so the pins come out the bottom of the pcb and top of the nice nano chip. To far one way or another and I lose my I or t rows. I kept thinking it was bad switches but I opened it up reseated the nice nano and nice view. Also does it take forever to connect via bt? That was also an issue I had till I corrected.
