Game stutters/lags after installing a bunch of Mods

The game did run completely fine till I installed a bunch of mods. I did try this on a system that had 16gb of ram and the same issue has arisen. I turned off all my mods with no change. I know that my current system would benefit from more ram but am not working and cannot buy more till I find more work. System Specs: Intel Core i5 12450H 8 GB of Ram 2050 dedicated GPU

We need more information to help you. Before launching the game again, open the Mod Manager and use the "Generate debug info" option, then send the zip file produced here in this channel. If you need to access older log files, see https://docs.ficsit.app/satisfactory-modding/latest/faq.html#Files_Logs

Apologies for not thinking of doing this ahead of time.

No worries! Hm, you say it's still laggy even with mods off? Just in your main save or even on a new save?
Newbicus
NewbicusOP2mo ago
Main save.. I have not tried a new save. I been thinking of that because I thoguht maybe the save was corrupt. Yes it still lags with mods off But I would think if the save is corrupt then it wouldn't load at all

nah stuff can go weird in saves which the game will account for, but that can still cause issues

Honestly maybe starting over is the best thing

upload your save to the map & redownload it, that can sometimes clean up issues worth noting that generally the more stuff is in your game, the worse performance will be, though - so you can generally expect performance to drop off a bit during a playthrough

See that is what I was trying to determine if it is a limitation of my machine I thoguht maybe to many assets to load. Oh also I forgot to mention that the performance does improve when I reload a save but eventually it lags But I will do what you suggest and report back with my findings The only reason I am not willing to say its my machine is me and a friend used to play sat back before 1.0 was a thing. He has a lower speced machine and our map was bigger than mine is right now. We did have connection issues but that was because of his internet. Sorry not trying to sound like I am arguing because I am not .. Just providing as much info as possible Odd.... I add yourube music in the background and the lagging is much worse ..... Here is the thing though the lagging was happening on system with 28 gb of ram and a epyc cpu ... Shadow pc if you are curious, but my internet was absolute trash back then so I couldn't rule out the internet. Now my internet is much better but I have less ram and a lesser cpu oh it had a nvidia a4000 gpu Question is it true the more belts that are full you run the more it bogs the performance? This coudl be the issue if true
Angus (FieryJack)
I am having the same issue and it started a few weeks ago. The game starts to hesitate periodically every few minutes for a second or two and after about 1h30m of playing until I save and reload it will progressively get worse. This happens with or without mods, new game save, etc. There does appear to be a memory leak apparent in the games executable. I see if the SMM debug option will spit out some more info tonight. Satisfactory is making me take forced breaks because I am addicted. LOL ASUS Rog Strix B550-F Gaming AMD Ryzen 9 5900X AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT 64GB RAM 2TB M.2 SSD

Honestly I dont think there is any help for us as it doesn't seem its a mod issue

Hmmm I'm wondering if it might actually be a mod issue causing the memory leak as it's not something I'm experiencing after 12+ hours of having my game running at a time (I leave it running all day in the background while I'm doing other things as well as actively playing), and after leaving our dedicated server running 24/7 pretty much Maybe it's a mod you both have in common?

Right, yeah, my dyslexia & ADHD got the better of me on that one, thought I'd read the whole thread but I missed that line completely Thank you for pointing that out

Should I close the ticket then? or there anymore suggestions

tbh, this is a thing with Satisfactory in some edge cases. It just... does that to some folk. Hardware, save complexity, time, building density in the player's area, phase of the moon, and entropy all seem to be factors. Definitely aggravated by some mods, but not necessarily caused by mods alone. But to one of Angus's comments in https://discord.com/channels/555424930502541343/555516979260293132/1349181193203220480 ― I don't think old mods would be a factor here, in terms of code that's loaded by the game. When disabled in SMM, they're removed entirely from the game directory, and nothing is left to load. And if you've launched without mods and are running a new game, it can't be the save-file either.

Well I haven't tried a new save but it seems that wont resolve the issue But I appreciate your insight for sure.

In the OP's case, things probably aren't helped by running on a 2050. In a complex factory, that's gonna struggle.
Newbicus
NewbicusOP2mo ago
Yeah figured lmfao But to my friends credit he was able to run a larger map on a 980ti But that was when experimental was the only option Also I had the same issues on a quadro A4000

Refined Power, especially if you have a lot of modular buildings, will likely cause problems too. We've been seeing a lot of performance issues and crashes with the Refined R&D stuff recently.

Dang I love that mod too You get more power for your buck
McCovican
McCovican2mo ago
You don't need to ditch it entirely, but the modular stuff requires multiple buildables for the same function as a single base-game power generation building. It's multiplying the performance impact and item count. Maybe just don't build tonnes of 'em.

Honestly I think it may be better to ditch Im not sure how to balance it tbh Maybe it would be worth starting a new save... Try not to use as many modular buildings but I feel it sorta defeats the purpose though but better than nothing I will go ahead and close this ticket since we cannot pinpoint a specific mod and I know that is what this thread is for Wait how do I?
