VERY SLOW LOD GEN

I installed the new beta 2.3.0 on the client and server and noticed that, unlike 2.2, loading chunks has become very slow, especially if you re-enter the server 😦 The client processor is i5 9600kf, on the hosting - AMD Ryzen 9 3900. What could be the problem or what should I tweak in the config to make it faster? I use neoforgre 1.21.1 and C2ME, Noisum, Faster random - this does not affect the LODs

with loading, do you mean loading existing ones, or generating new ones?

The issue is with loading existing LODs—they load very slowly, especially when re-entering the server.

do you have DH on the server?

yes

my guess is that its now slower because it has to communicate some things with the server now, like if an LOD needs updating

if you havent, you should set config in your server example: /dh config common.threadPreset (I_PAID_something something) and then do a pre generation with the /dh pregen command also by default the server/client has a 500kbps limit on data transfer which will slow down how quickly client gets LODs from server, you should increase them on both ends

He asks to indicate the number, which one is better to put?

0 for infinite if you dont care about how much data you consume on either end press f3 to see stats on the right on how quick you are getting the data, and if there is any bottleneck

Does this look normal, or should I adjust some settings?

Yes and no Change your configs, since it should only load like that when far away

Got it. Which config settings should I change to fix this?

this is a known issue with DH 2.3.0, that this can sometimes happen

Alright, is there any workaround for this, or do I just wait for a fix?

Try restarting the game Sometimes works

and so every time I come across these chunks, I have to restart the game?

Until theres a fix, yeah prob F3 + A reloads chunks Maybe it works

I was on version 2.2 because of this problem, so I'll have to roll back to the old one again, because this bug is just awful

Do that

F3 + A

Nope, doesn't help at all some kind of bug, developers - take note of this bug, because it's not a big deal that part of my nether just lies on spawn

You can see nether approaching The end is near

closer than ever... (there's a bug on the screen - if you enter the immersive portals portal with shaders and exit to another dimension, you'll see artifacts on the LODs)

but I must notice obvious changes - before the sky was completely broken - and now it's just artifacts on the LODs
