Marketplace skins on Java

This is from a private server Skins from the bedrock marketplace don’t translate and display in Java, uploaded skins do I don’t use geyser and I just setup the server 20m ago Sorry if this is on the docs, but I gave it a quick read and didn’t find something similar. Using geyser and floodgate, not sure if logs are necessary for this, lmk

New info, apparently this happens randomly, just happened with a non marketplace skin that used to work before a restart

Bedrock skins on Java rely on a 3rd party API that's inconsistent

I'm currently looking if there's a way to use a different api Probably shouldn't go to such lengths for a private server :idk:

Java needs skins signed by Mojang and uploaded to a Mojang URL, so the only way to get skins usable by vanilla Java edition is to use a real mojang account and change the skins And it's rate limited to like 1 skin change per minute per account

Should probably give up and accept there will be no skins every now and then
