Eh, it's probably not the outdated Curve Builder, that update is mostly a feature preview alpha, with some fixes for non-halting bugs. You do, however, have Refined Power & Digital Storage installed. They've been causing some issues recently. I'm also seeing issues just before the crash with Universal Swatch Slots (probably minor), and some segments of the world in your save looking like they've perhaps been corrupted. cc: @Acxd (IE, HFO, SR) in any case, though I doubt it's actually IE. Things you could try in the mean-time: 1) Temporarily disable Refined Power, Digital Storage, Universal Swatch Slots; see if that'll at least let you load the save. Test if unloading IE makes any difference too, just to be sure. 2) Load your save into SCIM, then immediately re-download it (you don't need to change anything). Sometimes the save parser in SCIM can straighten out some save-related issues. >map

@McCovican Thanks for the tips, lost me at the "redownload it" from SCIM.

1) Visit the link above, and upload your save to it. Saves are in %localappdata%\FactoryGame\Saved\SaveGames\{ID_Number}\ 2) Once it has been uploaded, just hit the download button. You do not need to do anything else on that site. 3) Put the save you downloaded from SCIM back into your save game directory. 4) Run the game, and load the save manually from the main menu (do not hit "continue"). It'll be the save with "_CALCULATOR" on the end of it.

@McCovican Thanks, don't know why but I was looking right through the download button. That didn't seem to do the trick. 😦

Could you disable Refined Power, Digital Storage, Universal Swatch Slots, and Industrial Evolution please. Try loading the game, and if it crashes, send another debug log immediately afterwards.

Doing that right now ...still on the loading map screen for 5min. May be chewing on the RP stuff. Had a lot of it in there @McCovican What's happening now. Uninstalling USS and CB, I can get the map to start to load then it crashes. Doing that and trying to pause IE, RP, DS as a group or individually, it just sticks on the loading screen. Neither crashes nor loads, just the splash screen with the loading circle going on forever.

Hm, it does seem to be dropping the RHI thread in both cases. I'd try booting the game with -dx11 or -vulkan. >rhiborked

FICSIT-Fred•2mo ago
There are a few things to try if your RHI is causing crashes. 1) Try switching your RHI. If you're using DX11 or DX12, switch to the other. If you're using Vulkan, try DX12 before DX11 2) Try verifying your game files. 3) Update/reinstall your graphics drivers 4) Try disabling hierarchal Z-buffer occlusion in the game's graphics settings. 5) Try tuning your graphics card's clock down, especially if has been overclocked (by you or the vendor) For more info, run one of the following bot commands by sending it as a chat message: >dx11 >dx12 >vulkan >verifyepic >verifysteam

Uhhh, yeah, that has become somewhat corrupt. Not even getting as far as a stracktrace there. Given that the original failure is in AFGGameState::PostLoadGame_Implementation() too, I'm thinking this save is not in the best of conditions, or there's a hardware issue. The most straightforward "next step" I can think of, barring anyone else having any input, would be for you to export your original SMM profile, and send me that, along with your original save, and I'll try to load it.

DM I guess So, this save is warning that CurveBuilder, MLB Alt's, and DI_Fluid_buffers are missing (on top of the ones I mentioned earlier) ― did you deactivate them before or after you first posted here?

Okay, so. I can load the original save, with all the original mods in place. It runs terribly, but it runs. There's... a lot here. Looking at the overview in SCIM, there are a lot of modular RP elements. Which, honestly, tracks with the number of hard crashes we've seen recently that ultimately boil down to "lots of modular RP buildings". Why does it run on mine and not on yours? Could be horse-power (2600X vs 5950X), could be you've got failing hardware (which... man, with that last log, I ain't ruling out), could be entropy. But I would ultimately be inclined to take a seat in the RP server and join the growing list of people for whom "modular power" has become a poisoned chalice. It might be a great idea, it might be great design, and it might be great fun, but this just does not seem to be a game which copes particularly well with the vast multiplication of objects required to complete the same function as a single basegame building.

I didn't even think of hardware as it worked great yesterday, but now that you bring that up, I have a new Mobo/proc sitting on my desk waiting for me to install them this week. This tracks with a lot of small problems elsewhere (not Satisfactory related) that have been creeping up. At least I know it's not the save, but probably a problem compounded by RP. I really appreciate you taking your time on this. You've been a great help!
McCovican
McCovican•2mo ago
No problem. If you're seeing hardware issues cropping up else where, I think it would be fairly reasonable to attribute these issues to that. Taking CPU and mobo out the picture if you're replacing them anyway, my next stop if problems persist would be to consider checking RAM. Or just leave memtest86 running for a while next time you go out.

RoadbeerOP•2mo ago
Already have replacements in a list, just in case 😄 Was holding off to put a 9070 in at the same time, but, LOL "We'll have plenty of stock". Out of stock everywhere.
