find out the oxidation state of M in the compound and then take the % M(0.83)O(1) let +2 oxidation states M ions be (x) then +3 will be (0.83.x) oxidation state of oxygen is -2 therefore the equation will be 2(x)+ (0.83-x)3 -2 = 0 from here x = 0.49 now % will be = (0.49/0.83) x 100 = 59% @thunder_god1286

Hey so 0.83 and 1 are showing just the quantity of M and O ? Because let's say H2o so we know that charge of o is 2 and h is 1 ? Charge is not 0.83 and 1 ?

nope charge is written above the atom for example Cl - here - is above the chlorine @thunder_god1286 they are the no. of atoms in that molecule
