Can't use mods since 1.0 (yes another post)
Hello everyone,
I know this is the kind of messages you see spreading all over but i tried to gather as much info and answers on that subject here and on the web before asking.
SMM is up to date, SML can't update past 3.7.0, trying to update it higher gives a compatibility error, launching the game reports an SML error "plugin not found", i only have this version installed, verified, cleaned and reinstalled game & SMM, still got issues.
I generated the debug from SMM it seems that few things from SML are indeed missing..
Any clues ?

Two options, as I see it: 1) If you are sure there is nothing of the old versions left installed, you could close SMM, then remove that installation entirely from SMM (delete
installations.json
from %appdata%\ficsit
), then restart SMM, which should automatically rediscover the install. Since you only have SML installed, this shouldn't pose any issues. If, following this, it still thinks you're on the old version, you likely do have old content remaining, and will need to progress to option...9 Replies

Make sure you updated the game before launching SMM. If your game is up to date, you have both U8 and 1.0 installed in the same folder at once, and SMM is detecting the U8 version.
To fix this, uninstall the game, delete the game install dir if it still exists (this is NOT the AppData folder, but the location where you installed the game), then reinstall the game, and reopen SMM.
If reinstalling the game takes too long for you, a quicker fix is to delete the
<game install dir>\Engine\Binaries\Win64\FactoryGame-Win64-Shipping.version
file, though this is not meant to be a permanent solution, as having the game installed twice in the same directory can cause issues later.Key Details for SMMDebug-2025-03-05-23-56-04.zip

Satisfactory Mod Loader can be updated to
3.10.0
Update these mods, there may be fixes for your issue in doing so.by the way tried this ⬆️ , didnt work
SMM thinks that the version of the game you have installed at
x:\\0__GAMING\\SteamLibrary\\steamapps\\common\\Satisfactory
is still outdated. Do you have any old the old files remaining there?I would be surprise if it was the case, i had the early access on another disk, its a fresh install here and i cleaned everything on the other. also tried the .version delete fix, didnt work...

folder is gone, and re-download. You won't lose any save-games or game-settings.

triggered by @viothe installations.json looked clean only one entry (the right one), deleted it, relaunched same error. Doing the reinstallation right now
well that did the trick ! quite interesting as it was a fresh install on a new disk.. maybe steam migrated some files when i declared this disk as main installation path .. anyway BIG thanks ^^
