SMM Issue
My brother reinstalled Satisfactory on Epic. Now when he launch's his game threw SMM it loads up fine but when he try's to join our server the game say's SMM is not installed. He has tried uninstalling and reinstalling SMM but still the same thing.

Ok. I had him delete the mods before. I am havign him reinstall the mods for the server after he restarted the loader. I will let you know if he gets a diffrent message or if it worked.

Key Details for SMMDebug-2025-03-06-12-51-01.zip triggered by @TimeToOwnUHe might have installed the mods to a different Satisfactory install. I see two listed in the logs,
C:\Program Files\Epic Games\SatisfactoryEarlyAccess and D:\Games\Satisfactory, but only one in the metadata, so idk which one is actually selected. Ask him to check which install he has selected in the game versions dropdown in the top right in SMMWell he only has one option that say's Epic games. There are two other options say Unknown. He cant choose the Unknown's only the epic games.
I just had him delete all mods installed and then try to join the game and it still say's its missing the mod loader.
The game is installed to
C:\Program Files\Epic Games\Satisfactory, right?yes
I see the logs specifically mentioning that the mods get installed to the game install on
D:. Can you check if D: is the one that shows as valid, and the C: one being one of the unknowns?How can i check to see what one is valid?

It just say's Epic games it doesent say what directory it is.
Sorry, forgot to mention, it shows the path if you hover the folder icon in the dropdown
when he hovers over it it say's its reading the one on C drive.

You can get rid of the unknown ones in the manage servers menu in SMM (they get put there, SMM assumes they are servers that it couldn't connect to)
Ok now in the drop down he just has epic game so i am having him launch the game again.
If it still doesn't work, try turning mods off and back on again, now that SMM only has one install listed. Maybe restart SMM too

Also on a side note, We have noticed after playing the game for about 15-20 min we have FPS issues. Restarting the game fix's it but it always ends up with fps drop to almost unplayable. Is there a fix for this?
That is largely just the nature of playing big Satisfactory saves with a lot of mods.
