How Does My Suit Fit?

I recently bought a new OTR suit online and while I like how it looks from the front, the back seems to have a lot of folds around my shoulder blades and I'm not sure if the sleeves/shoulders are displaying too much wrinkling. I'm still within the return window for this suit so I would greatly appreciate any advice on what alterations should/could be made or if I should return it. Apologies for the uneven cuffs on the trousers, they came unfinished. Any other advice on the fit also greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Sleeves are too long

Overall it’s pretty good. The trousers might need some adjustments since the back is sloppy but it’s hard to tell with the cuffs the way they are. The sleeves are a hair too long as Pierre has mentioned as well. The back will be tough to adjust at all tbh so it’s up to you if the shoulders are enough of an issue to abandon that brand. The left shoulder (in pic) also has a wrinkle so it’s likely a shoulder slope issue (I’m not a tailor)

If you can raise the back of your pants any, they might fall a little better. Not sure if they’re sitting there because that’s how the waist is, or because the waist is a little too big and falling down the back. If the former, you can look for a higher rise next time around. I have that issue with the wrinkles behind the arms on most suits, I think because my shoulders are broader than most chests my size. A tailor can definitely help take some loose fabric in, but it’ll start to restrict motion if it’s cleaned up too much. My biggest issue is how the sleeves seem to be catching on your elbows and wrinkling If you have the time and inclination, I’d look for a suit with slightly trimmer chest measurement for the same shoulder size, slightly wider sleeves and a higher rise.

Thank you so much everyone for the advice!! The trousers sit around my navel, given that they’re high rise do you guys think it would be possible for a tailor to clean up the back of them? And do you guys have any idea if a tailor could widen the sleeves a bit to make them catch less? from my understanding there generally isn’t a lot of working fabric there if i hold onto this suit i’ll make sure to get the sleeves shortened subjectively would you guys consider this fit “good enough” for OTR or should i be able to easily find a better fitting suit elsewhere?

trouser pics are v helpful. Maybe a tailor could just let the seat out a touch. Looks a little tight there, so that'll let the rest fall naturally is this spier and mckay? basically, all the places you see wrinkles are places the fabric is pulling away or being stretched, and no amount of tailoring will get rid of all of it. Hard to tell how much in trousers can be fixed without knowing allowance. All that being said, most people will notice none of this. If this is your "one suit" you plan on wearing for a little while, I'd look at different sizes/cuts/makers. If this is just a suit you need for an event quick and don' plan on wearing it too much after, it's totally fine. Just my opinion. Also not a tailor

ok thank you! This is The Anthology, and yeah this would be my “one suit” so i do want it to fit well. I really liked the roped shoulders and lower gorge on this one which is why i went with it but maybe i’ll take another look around, I live in a medium sized city with almost no local suit suppliers so im kind of limited to shopping online and crossing my fingers. Thanks again!

Oh yeah for that price I’d either try MTM or just a different OTR company. I wouldn’t want my Ring Jacket or Anthology suit to fit like that.

If you can get fitted in person it’s super helpful. They’ll be able to tell you which spots are fine, which can be altered, and which ones kill the suit
