how do seasons happen
it makes sense with spheres with a tilted axis
how do yall explain it for a flat earth?

it makes sense with the thing you must believe to exist but without any evidence whatsoever. That includes sphere, tilt, and axis. Do you have any proof of these things that are the basis of the story you believe in about changing weather?
Longer days equals summer, shorter days equals winter the transitioning times between those are spring and fall.
I disagree, being closer to the sun in the winter does not make sense. How weather works is non sequitur, it has nothing to do with the shape of an object.
who says the earth is closer to the sun in the winter cuz I doubt that's ever been measured?
from what I can tell it was never directly measured, their claim of the distance to the sun is a calculated value that is based upon assumed premises about constant speed of light and assuming that their modelling of the motion of celestial objects are precise. So then it's based off of reification.
