Polka Dot Shirt Styling Suggestions
Once upon a time I bought a vintage CdGH shirt because how can you say no to this face: :pumagun:
This was right around the time I started really embracing "goofy versions of normal clothes in neutral colors" as a personal style and that is one of many ways I'd describe the brand in the late 90s, particularly 1997 and 1998.
While I had a slam dunk of a fit with it (1) the other times I've attempted it doesnt really have the same sort of ease, whether I'm countering the vibes from the collection (2) or leaning into them (3).
Any thoughts on styling in general and/or ways to fix (3)? Want to avoid burying it under a bunch of layers if I can help it but I'm stumped otherwise 🤷♂️

Personally, I think the issue isn't w/ the polka dots "pattern" or color, it's the pattern as in the cuts of fabrics, and play w/ proportions—that's what I gathered from your videos.
Where does the seam sit on your shoulders?
my personal ranking is 2 > 1 > 3 here. the turtleneck layer in 3 throws me off especially.
i think a fruitful approach might be to think of it in terms of office wear, i think that's why i like 2 the best because it's the most formal here. half looking thru the show video, i see the concept ur attempting in 3 with a tonal outfit and i do think that's worth experimenting with! I'd try getting closer to the vibe of the clothing in the runway too, that country club dad on vacation sort of vibe
i like the idea of 3; leaning into a kind of gorpy look is very cute to me
but agree the turtleneck does throw me off
Could work if you tuck in the bottom of the turtle neck into the pants.
where's the coat in 1 from? slam dunk of a fit indeed
vintage, the brand is marine tech though i don't know if that is aquatic or military adjacent
hits right at the bone - i think if the shirt were oversized i'd be in good shape 🫠
the main thing mentally stopping me from going dadcore on this is the camp collar but maybe that's the point :bigbrain: definitely a thought
I like it over the turtle. I think if you rolled the sleeve of the button-up, it’d look a little more natural.
This also might look nice as a short sleeve? you could have a tailor chop the sleeves
i hate that i've become the person that says "i'm not modding the archival clothing" but here we are 😭 (no offense is meant to you brain)
it does look better with rolled up sleeves tho
anyway i landed on something decent today thanks all :killH:

pretty sure this is a summer shirt though, it's way better with big shorts
looks really good in this fit imo!!
