@Phil i just noticed that BoatInstrument has a nonlinear wind gauge. How do you like it in practise?

Didn't think I'd use it, as we've a cruising yacht, but I've actually found it quite good. So I've taken to using it in auto mode. As for the name... When working for a big software company we had a presentation from the lawyers. Their only real advice was "just call it what it is so you can't be caught with a trademark infringement!" and that's always stuck with me😁

On the per-boxs settings page you can choose the type of rose. "Close Haul" gives you the nonlinear display. If you choose "Auto" it will switch if the needle transitions over 60 degrees for more than the "Auto Switch Delay". You can also choose to have a button to manually lock it in one or the other displays. This appears as a "Lock" icon that cycles through the options.
