severe lag spikes w/ FTB Evolution
I'm hosting a small FTB evolution server (running on neoforge 1.21.1) ~4-6 players usually.
The server is generally somewhat stable, but occasionally there are HUGE lag spikes where all of my players get disconnected - ticks sometimes end up taking 2000ms.
Here is the spark profile including all ticks >150ms

It seems to be something with lootr data saving. What can I do to prevent this?
Thanks!

Seems like a cpu thing vs anything else
@ProGamingDk any thoughts when your free

none of that shows anything really
1.3 seconds max spike over 6 hours
isnt exactly bad
then we can save it

@pupik12 install this mod for the server and config it, by default it does nothing 🙂
in this case i think there was only 1 person online. When there are more people it happens several times an hour
ill give this a try, thank you so much!
Maybe a free vm can't handle mods?
then the lag spike occurs, are you able to check top and see if the
st
value is greater than 0.0?
that value is value is called CPU steal, and it's when the VM host is overloaded
im so sorry, i must have missed the ping on this message ðŸ˜
ill check next time i’m able to/am available when theres a spike (most of my players are on a different timezone than me)
i’m assuming if this is the case there is nothing I can rly do besides buying a better vm?
