Help with very first suit for wedding guest who is AFAB.
Hi guys! I'm going to be buying a suit for the very first time as a wedding guest. Only problem is, I don't know anything about them and I'm AFAB (assigned female at birth). Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated. Please and thank you!

whats your budget? And how much time do you have?
My budget is 200$ - 300$ and I have a bit more then 3 months
An additional problem is that I have a particularly big bust, but I think my binder should be able to flatten it well if I'm able to wear it that day
$200 is a difficult budget to get new, I would look on eBay for used suits that are your size and tailor them
Thanks!

Keep in mind tailoring may cost ~$100 for the suit
I'm willing to stretch it to 300$, but that'd only be an additional 100
Got you, thanks for the warning
There’s at least one shop in NYC that does suiting like this but I fear they’re above your budget
Aw, yeah. And I live in New Mexico 😦
are you gonna need summer weight fabric
cos is unisex enough and should have at least one sale in the next 3 months
Is there anywhere you can try something on in person before committing? I feel like buying your first suit online would be scary without some sense of how it's gonna look on you
Ya I would recommend going to a department store or a suit store and getting your measurements. Then comparing those measurements with the suit online
Yes I am!
I should be going to a nearby city to help the bride pick out a dress soon. I'll try looking for a suit store after to try some stuff on
Great idea. Thanks 🙂
Yeah I would get measurements only. for your budget (plus buying secondhand) you can get a better suit than what most chains e.g. mens wearhouse or macy's
especially if you need a summer weight suit
Definitely get measurements, and if there's the option try on as many suits as you can. Learn what you like as far as cut and how things wear, especially with trousers,it'll really help you with finding a good fit second hand
The good news is you have plenty of time to figure things out!
