Sunglasses
Thoughts? Wondering what vibe this time of shape and style gives off.
My reqs:
* Durable enough to survive falling off head onto concrete a few times a day
* Joint and nose peices unlikely to get caught in hair
* mirrored to protect against the fae
* The less vertical shape than like snowboard goggles preferred
* the horizontal wraps around for peripheral vision
* I've had the rubbery nose pads melt from sitting in a vehicle so would rather avoid
* blue or blue/white preferred
* polarized preferred or comes in both
* I'd prefer cheap and easily replaceable ($2 is where I started) since I lose or break them a lot, but I'm looking up to $30-35 now and am not limited to that price point and polarized versions tend to start around $25-35.
* Function is everyday wear - yardwork, driving, errands, etc.

What I have now mostly looks like this, with wider flatter arms.

with this budget id probably just step into a gas station and grab whatever looks the most appealing
1) stop dropping your sunglasses
2) cheap polarization is bad for your eyes, if you’re spending $30 on polarized sunglasses at best, they’re not actually polarized and at worst the polarization will have shit alignment and cause problems down the road
3) increase your budget and buy a decent pair you just don’t drop. Pit Vipers or Oakley or Revo will have good options in the style you’re looking at
1b) those glasses strings will stop them from falling on the floor
bro the pogies

Ya this is true, Costco will have something for $30 that isn’t terrible
1) that ... just isn't going to happen. I've tried. It isn't feasible.
2) That is good to know, I wasn't aware of polarization quality. Most of the ones I have now are ansi rated UV protection, so there is some minimal quality standard, but I hadn't realised I was missing out until I found some freebie polarized ones that I don't like the look of but ended up preferring the sun protection of.
3) Thanks for the brand recs. I'll start there.
Good luck
I don't think straps will help me, because they usually fall off of surfaces, have to deal with surviving a backpack, or and specifically when they drop, are on my head and drop backwards.
I think you’re options are find a way to not drop your glasses or just buy cheap ones. There’s not any glasses that you can throw around like that without taking damage regardless of budget
Get a case for them
So no general vibe from the style, just a rec to not go cheap on safety esp for polarized?
You can try cases, the keepers, just being more mindful of where they go. But not dropping them is kinda the main thing aside from the small budget.
There are though... anything safety rated has survived me, and I need safety rated often enough it makes sense to primary something that counts for it.

Again, they tend to fall off the top of my head. If I don't have a bag or pockets for a case they aren't going in a case.
If they're falling off your head onto concrete multiple times a day you might want to keep them somewhere else

Pit viper seems to only have the snowboard style or tiny round, not the rectangle type?

i break 20 maybe 30 pairs of sunglasses every day
if you're already looking at oakley sport lenses, get the ones that have the necklace/head strap or add it as an attachment
or just get beaters that you don't mind dropping and messing up
