Dashboard Metrics Possibly Broken
Hello, my dashboard metrics seem to be broken, the total data served value seems to be in ExaBytes, which seems inaccurate, I also receive the same information from the CF API as well. The request count does not match with the bandwidth in any way, can someone confirm if this is a bug or some DDoS attack?

what do you see if you click "View more analytics"
same 👀

its difficult to tell if its legitimate or not with the free plan analytics unfortunately
but the fact theres no similar increase in requests indicates that it might be wrong
Seem like a bug to me, I thought my update on my custom dashboard broke something, but I saw the same thing on CF dashboard and got shocked xD
It also reports the same number via the CF Graph API
yeah i visited your website to check something and saw you have graphs of the same, presumably populated by graphql
Yes!
Is there something that needs to be done from my end, or I can safely ignore it?
if it is a bug then i'm sure you can just ignore it without consequence, and if its not then it seems it was all cached so its also probably not a concern
I submitted a community escalation for this thread so someone from Cloudflare will see it during working hours and might be able to weigh in on whether its expected or not
:MeowHeartCloudflare: Thank you very much!
:cat_peek: please ping me if you respond to this thread :MeowHeartCloudflare:
@rian here 🙂
Hey folks, thanks for flagging this. Let me look into this a bit, will get back to you!
@SoulHarsh007 curious if you have WAF turned on and can see bot traffic? We don't have a known issue with these graphs, so I'm wondering if this might be bot/DDoS traffic you're seeing.
(We're doing some investigation on our end as well, will keep this thread updated)
hm
:MeowHeartCloudflare: thanks for quick response. Unfortunately no, I don't have WAF turned on, I think it comes with a paid plan
I got emails from CF today though, I think this might be relevant.

thats real weird
Yeah, it's the first time I got this emails. Also it's scary to see my site getting DDoS'd. I don't run anything important here, just a few repository mirrors for open source projects.
@SoulHarsh007 we have a team looking into what's going on here, might be a data issue on our side. We're on it!
(Thanks for bringing this up, super useful!)
:MeowHeartCloudflare:
@SoulHarsh007 Looks like you uncovered a bug for us... team is working on a fix.
Wow! Thank you for letting me know, so my website is safe, right? No DDoS?
Yeah you should be good. That weird number will stay weird, but going forward you shouldn't see spikes like that.
Okay, thank you very much!
It's going to look funny on my dashboard xD
Yeah, sorry about that 😦
But you can brag that you helped us fix a bug? 😉
No problemo, I will just filter out those two dates ^^
:MeowHeartCloudflare: Yep, sounds like a deal! xD
Thank you @rian for helping out here and finding the bug!!
And thank you for ticket escalation! :MeowHeartCloudflare:
werird
i dont think its bug bro
cheak ur dash again
and go to security
if u have waf it will come up as "http-ddos" allert
if it is its a ddos attack because no bug can randomly cause 200m of requests
it was a bug, there weren't 200 mil requests and the bug is the bandwidth not the request count
nope
how can it be a bug
with u explain to me
9 exabytes of bandwidth isn't a bug? :p
the requests is not
no one is talking about requests being a bug
i am a expert
of ddos
again, it's bandwidth that bugged
attack
ok, cool.
i dont do it for
bad
but i search alot
into it
and help ppl find ways to mitigate
i dont think
lets wait
i'm gonna just lock this thread, we fixed the bug :LuL:
