Quarter zip jumper for smart casual at Tech corporate event?

I’ve been invited to an event as a representative of my company (I’m early career so first time). This is at a partner company and it’s mostly a networking event and listening to talks from executives and guest speakers. I don’t quite know what to wear. The sector is Tech. I was thinking of wearing this quarter zip, with a polo inside, and navy chinos. No ideas what shoes to wear as I mostly wear sneakers at work (Tech office)

That's a safe look. Maybe the shoes can be the conversation starter if it's appropriate. What do you want people to notice and chat about? Control the engagement. :sunglas:

My goals are mostly to go out of my comfort zone by networking and making connections with employees who are high up, and take pictures from the event for LinkedIn/company blog

Well-taken care of shoes, or garments, is always a good move.

Sneakers are fine No one expects engineers to be dressed well

Company swag might be a bit risky and tbh doesn’t look good. I wear my hoodies at work but only when it’s cold lol

I think this seems appropriate for your average SWE

It's fine if company swag doesn't look good but I think going above sweater or quarter zip level of formality is not the move
