Corne 6 Column left side has only some keys working
Hey all. Running a 6 coloumn with the nice!nano. Was having bluetooth connectivity issues the last couple days. Went through some trouble shooting and got it fixed, including flashing new bootloader via adafruit, and a refreshing the firmware. Got the bluetooth fixed but now randomly only the keys that are in the squares on the left side of the keyboard are working. This is a presodered board with the no solder pins for the controllers. Running on MacOS

Sounds like some rows or columns aren't working.
First, ensure the nice!nano is seated correctly in the no-solder headers.
If that doesn't work, see our troubleshooting guide: https://docs.typeractive.xyz/troubleshooting/rows-columns-not-working
It will walk you through identifying the problematic pins and checking for soldering issues or shorts.

The nice nano is seated correctly
@TyperAI The nice nano is seated correctly
Thanks! Since the board is pre-soldered and only some keys are working, let's focus on potential connection issues.
Try reseating the nice!nano, ensuring the no-solder headers make good contact. Sometimes, slight adjustments can resolve connectivity problems.
If the issue persists, the next step is to carefully inspect the PCB for any visible damage or debris that might be causing a short circuit.
Let me know what you find!
The nice nano is seated and connected properly
@TyperAI The nice nano is seated and connected properly
Thanks! Since the nice!nano seems properly connected, let's try reflashing the firmware.
Sometimes, a fresh flash can resolve unexpected keymapping issues. You can find the default firmware files here: https://docs.typeractive.xyz/build-guides/corne-wireless/firmware
Make sure to select the correct firmware for your board (with or without nice!view).
Let me know if that helps!

@TyperAI i did that
Thanks! If reflashing didn't help, let's focus on hardware troubleshooting.
Are specific rows or columns not working? If so, check the Row/Column Troubleshooting guide. It involves checking solder joints and potential shorts.
If it's just a single key, see: https://docs.typeractive.xyz/troubleshooting/single-key-not-working

@TyperAI We've alreadly been through that
Thanks! Since we've covered the common issues, could you describe which keys are/aren't working? Knowing the specific keys can help narrow down the problem.
Also, have you tried a different set of switches to rule out switch issues?
Let me know!
@TyperAI tab, q, w, shift, a, s, control, z, x, c, v, b are all not working
Thanks! That's a lot of keys.
It's unlikely for so many individual switches to fail simultaneously. Given the pattern, it might still be a row or column issue.
Can you check the Corne pinout and see if those keys share a common row or column?
Let me know what you find!

@TyperAI They share columns P0.31, P0.29, P0.02
Thanks! Focus on those columns. Carefully inspect the solder joints on the nice!nano and the PCB for those pins. Reflow the solder, ensuring good connections.
Also, check for any shorts between those pins or nearby components.
Let me know what you find!

@TyperAI All the solders look good to me
Thanks!
If the solder joints look good and there are no visible shorts, the next step is to use a multimeter to check for continuity along those columns.
Do you have a multimeter and know how to use it?
If not, we can explore other options.
@TyperAI i dont
Thanks!
Without a multimeter, it's difficult to diagnose further.
As a last resort, try flashing the firmware again. See the firmware guide for instructions.
If that doesn't work, further diagnosis will be difficult without a multimeter.

@TyperAI i already reflashed firmware
Thanks!
Since reflashing didn't resolve the issue, and you don't have a multimeter, it's difficult to diagnose further.
It's possible there's an internal issue with the nice!nano or PCB.
Do you have a spare nice!nano or PCB to test with?
@TyperAI how do i test the pcb with the voltmeter?
Thanks!
To test the PCB with a multimeter, set it to continuity mode. Then, check the connection between the switch pins and the corresponding nice!nano pins.
Our troubleshooting guide and the pinout diagram can help you identify the correct pins.

@TyperAI my nicenano went bad. i tested it with another nice nano i had
Thanks!
That's unfortunate, but at least you were able to diagnose the issue.
Do you need help with a replacement?
yes
