4k@120hz
Hello Bazzite community, I was so excited when bazzite booted up without issue on my intel i9/nvidia 3090 pc, windows 11 has been nothing but pain and torture.
However, I can only seem to go to 4k@60hz or 1080p@120hz, but when I was using windows 4k@120hz worked without issue on my LG tv.
Any ideas what I can do to get it back up to snuff?

The easiest fix would be to get a display port cable instead of HDMI. HDMI has bandwidth issues so it can't support as high resolution and high refresh rate output. (Unless you're using HDMI 2.1, but I see online that even this has some issues)
If that isn't an option or doesn't work, then I'm not sure. I know windows does some weird things behind the scenes to get higher numbers to work without fully supporting it. I read once about them reducing the colour space to increase the fps? I think it's chroma sampling. It might be that windows is downsampling to get it to run which ruins some of the image quality. You should be able to check that on windows colour settings.
HDMI 2.1 is not allowed in open source drivers at all by the HDMI forum. Best bet is display port to hdmi converter, i use this dongle by cablematters, your mileage will vary depending on the type of display you have and displayport version on your GPU: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08XFSLWQF?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1

this will make HDMI 2.1 mostly work, but things like VRR may still not work, unless your TV supports FreeSync (most LGs do), not HDMI VRR (there is a difference)
nvidia shouldnt have this problem because they use proprietary driver
I got an 8k displayport to HDMI adaptor and the OS still won't go to 4k@120hz 😦

To be clear the cable and TV do it fine on my xbox, PS5, and of course the same machine in windows mode
Just for shits and giggles, I just tried my steam deck (the reason for this inspiration) and it works fine in 4k@120hz lol
So I moved the bazzite PC from my living room to my office so I could try it with display port and 4k@120hz worked. Why doesn’t it work with the DisplayPort to hdmi adaptor?
It's possibly something to do with your HDMI cable maybe. Not all cables are built the same. Are you sure it's a HDMI 2.1 cable?
Yes, branded as officially 8k supported and works fine on windows
