Am I paranoid for feeling odd about going sockless in wider-fit pants?
I switched out my Millenial-Fit chinos and casual pants (aka, anything that’s not a dress trouser) for relaxed-fit versions: nothing crazy wide or anything, just wide enough that my calves don’t look like they’re gonna flex through them at any moment. I’m not a fan of wide + cropped pants that were trendy for a while (a big reason why I clung to my Millenial-Fit pants for so long) — to me, a more relaxed fit needs a more generous break to balance things out.
The thing is, I live out near Palm Springs, which means it’s hot almost year round. I commonly skip socks with my loafers, but it feels weird that I’d have these longer, wider pants that cover my ankles. Is this just a bias I’m carrying over from the slim-fit, zero-break days?
