Name Tag Rendering Issues

As of the latest Iris update, name tags render slightly faded and bolded text layers (since bold renders the text again with an offset) mix/clip into the original layer. This did not happen before Iris 1.8.7. Attached are the results with and without iris, you can see how the text without iris doesn't look faded and doesn't have parts mixing colours. If it helps I'm using Iris 1.8.8 and Fabric; I'm also on macOS is thats somehow relevant to this issue.
