Capture card for dual pc setup.

Hey all, I think Iā€™m going to try dual pc streaming again. In the fall I had purchased a 4K pro and returned it shortly after once I found out the hard way that even though there is 4k240hz pass through it can only capture 1080p60. My questions: 1) are there any workarounds for this? I donā€™t want to gimp my 4k240 oled monitor since thatā€™s the whole reason I got it in the first place. 2) how is the 4K X in comparison? It lacks 240hz pass through but can at least capture 4K60 while passing through 4k120/144. 3) are there any other options to consider that would fit my needs? 4) is there a way to clone the display but have it output 240hz to my monitor and 60hz to the capture card? Thanks!

Thereā€™s no workaround. Thatā€™s a bleeding edge format that no other cards yet support. (And support remains unlikely as the primary way of achieving 4K240 right now is with DSC, which is encrypted)

I was reading about people using nvidia control panel to mirror displays and set different refresh rates for the clones

You can kinda force it with cloning but you get tons of extra tearing on your capture and it doesnā€™t always stick past reboots And the amount of tearing is bad enough Iā€™d not consider watching the stream for long lmao

Interesting. Well the card comes tomorrow so I guess weā€™ll see šŸ˜… Other suggestions Iā€™ve seen is running a obs instance on the gaming pc where you are just projecting the source to the capture card and using that Your warning of screen tearing was enough for me to cancel my 4060/4K pro order. I am cursed on a single pc setup and having to just deal with the performance hit I guess
