Server occasionally crashes with a core dump
Running on Ubuntu, which is hosting atm10 right now while I iron out the kinks in my setup.
I have neoforge installed and running locally and the server runs incredibly smoothly. Occasionally on startup, and sometimes randomly (like once in 2-3 days) it will crash and core dump for the PID. I was hoping someone could assist me with understanding what's happening and maybe how to fix it. I'm pretty new to Linux. I understand how to navigate the OS, but not necessarily how to obtain deeper information or understand what it wants to tell me just yet.

Sorry didn't know how much of it is useful/potentially compromising so figured SUMMARY was a good start to post lol
summary shows not much
this is the important bit

try using a different java
don't I have to go with that java since it's for 1.21.1
yes you do
but im saying get a different manufactor java. ae not from Ubuntu but maybe from Adoptium or etc
apt install temurin-21-jdk
would that not be worse? Sorry still learning how some of this works lol
it wont
like what's going on in Ubuntu java to lead to this that wouldn't necessarily happen w/ another java
:pepe_shrug: its just a guess that it might be the java vs something else
I see, I'm looking at it and it looks like Temurin has some additional dev & fixes that aren't in the base java?
i dont know the information on that ngl
fair enough
sorry I ask a lot of questions to try and understand it
its alr
do you know if that's something I can do quick? Or will I have to redo a lot?
its pretty quick
is it like a hot swap stop server, I uninstall openjdk-ubuntu, install temurin, and then boot the server again?
yep
or will I have to redo like configs and stuff
no need to reboot i think
but need be yeah do a reboot
it's not recognizing when I try and add adoptium to my repository
I trial and errored my way to fixing the repository, the syntax I copied was incorrect
