Implement Novu in a Bubble.io app?
Hey everyone,
I'm currently building an app using Bubble and need help integrating notifications using Novu. According to the Novu documentation, I need to install an npm package and import it. However, since Bubble primarily uses plugins for such integrations and I'm new to Bubble plugins, I'm unsure how to proceed.
I have some coding experience but mainly work as a Bubble developer. Is there a guide on implementing Novu's headless inbox notification center directly in a Bubble app? If not, can someone help me set up Novu for use in my Bubble app?
Thank you! π

Thanks for reaching out for Novu inbox notifications in Bubble app.
Since, novu is based on workflows and then worklflows is triggered using api, do you have backend support for HTTP request to our api?
Hey @Pawan Jain,
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. If I understood your message correctly, you're asking if I can set up API workflows to work with Novu. Yes, I've already set up the API workflows to create notifications and everything is working fine.
What I'm struggling with is figuring out how to implement the headless inbox notification into my Bubble app for real-time notifications. Do you have any other solutions or workarounds in mind that I could try?
Maybe I didn't fully understand your message, so any clarification would be helpful.
There are two parts:
1. sending the notification (needs to make HTTP request to this api )
2. receiving the notification (using headless inbox)
Novu
Trigger event - Novu
Trigger event is the main (and only) way to send notifications to subscribers.
The trigger identifier is used to match the particular workflow associated with it.
Additional information can be passed according the body interface below.
Understood! I've already set the workflow to send notifications and integrated it into my app. It works fine and I've tested it. Now, I'm stuck on receiving notifications using the headless inbox.
I'm struggling with how to implement this headless inbox in a Bubble app. According to the documentation, I need to import an npm package into my Bubble app, but I'm not sure where or how to start. That's why I'm reaching out for help.
I think I might need to create a Bubble plugin, but I'm wondering if someone here can assist me with this. Maybe there's already a private plugin available or a guide that could help me out.

Currently, we don't have anything compatible with bubble. I am sharing the request with our product team.
Alright @Pawan Jain, do you have any idea when the plugin or integration with Bubble will be available? Are we talking about a month or more? I'm trying to decide whether to wait for Novu to integrate with Bubble or if I should go ahead and implement something myself with Novu, or maybe look into another solution for now.

Can I update you on this in couple of days? This is the first request of bubble support. I will check with team, if we will be able to priorotize this.
Sure @Pawan Jain, I'll keep an eye on this Discord chat. Thanks a lot for the help! I hope we'll be able to integrate Novu with Bubble soon. π
@gabriel.guerin, you just advanced to level 1!
@Pawan Jain, I just wanted to let you know that one of your competitors, Engagespot, already has an official plugin for Bubble and even a Bubble integration guide. This might be useful for the Novu team to check out.
I decided not to go with their solution because I'm not entirely convinced by their app. I prefer Novu's app.
