No level up messages

Configured everything correctly to my knowledge, perms are set. I've set it to send a level up message at level 1 and then every 5, but it only gives people the role with no level up message at level 1
Solution:
I just noticed you have a global multiplier of x5 which is extremely high. You are probably skipping over level 1 because of the amount of XP you gained is way too high

You have a leveling factor and specific levels both selected, you should remove the leveling factor, check if that fixes it

How long does the update from website take for the server? I just edited the settings to this instead, but now it's not even giving me a role anymore, let alone the message

it's giving the role now, but still no level up message, I've been resetting my xp to 0, then sending a message to get level 1 and see if it gives me the level 1 message, it won't

it just gives me the role with no announcement for clarity I do not have any blacklisted roles I have decent experience with server management and discord bots so I'm avoiding the usual issues, really no idea why this won't kick in

Try removing all of the XP Announcement restrictions and trying again, it looks like the leveling factor is still being applied; Reload the dashboard and try removing it again

Will try in couple hours, I have to leave currently. Will post update came back and it seems it's sending an announcement for level 5, but not 1 so I'm assuming it'll work for the rest of the levels above as well any idea to fix that? I'd like people to know they got their first level to know about the bot and the first role they were given

You can just enable "send level up message with role rewards" and then set the specific level up message to just 1 that should work

that was my initial idea but my roles are set to 10 levels each and I wanted them to get some sort of update inbetween, without a spam for every level, that's why I set the factor to level 5 with specific levels at level up. I'm guessing there's no work around this without sacrificing the level 1 announcement huh

You can just remove the factor level up message and only set every specific level up message individually The factor is meant to be used on its own, it's probably conflicting with the sppecific level up message setting

yes, but then we are where we are now, where it will only send announcements for either: level 1, and then every 10 levels no level 1, but send it every level 5 and promotions I want level 1, every 5 levels, and promotions

Send me your /config check screenshot again please, it didn't save correctly last time it seems

it's only sending level 5 announcements but level 1 is entirely skipped

so they never got the message that they now have the first role

How do you know Level 1 is being skipped?

KandgeOPā€¢6d ago
I haven't seen any announcement for level 1 for anyone, tested on myself as well by setting my exp to 0 and then sending a message a role gets applied to me, but no message

lower the global multiplier to 1 and it should work

KandgeOPā€¢6d ago
yes, my server is semi-active, members chat during events within a game only so they would never realistically reach level 100 with the base multiplier. Interesting though, that must be it

KandgeOPā€¢6d ago
I'm going to fix it by applying a multiplier to every role past level 10 here

Kandge
KandgeOPā€¢6d ago
so that way they have 1x multiplier before level 10
CmdData
CmdDataā€¢6d ago
Yeah that would fix it in your situation

now I just need to figure out how to make it announce the new role given is that possible? where the level up message that rewards a new role will say something like "you received this role" etc
CmdData
CmdDataā€¢6d ago
Yes you can use {#roleRewards}You gained the {roleRewards} roles!{/roleRewards}
