Do you guys think Uniqlo's a decent brand for basics?
So I know Uniqlo's fairly frequently recommended here while also saying thats only 1 step above other fast fashion companies, which gives the brand a bit of an interesting position, one where it's loved but also criticized for being fast fashion.
I was thinking about it on my lunch break, but do you think the brand performs decently when it comes to quality basics despite the fast fashion comparisons?

Smart collabs with respected designers (U with Lemaire, JW Anderson, Jil Sander etc) over the years.
Cuts and designs don't change all that frequently, making it fairly reliable in terms of sizing etc.
They tend to do items in their range in lots of safe colours, meaning basics for most wardrobes are at Uniqlo.
Mostly stick to fairly basic/minimal designs. Again, makes it work for a lot of people.
But also "thing, Japan" (which is not made in Japan) in the era of internet fashion.
My two pence: they're not really any better than inditex (Zara, bershka, Massimo dutti)/h&m group (h&m, cos, arket, weekday, monki)/whoever, just a different niche.
