can you post an
rpm-ostree status
please
you probably layered some packages
i forgor about docker
how to uh remove it or etc
reset?
Solution
sudo rpm-ostree reset
will remove all layered packages
also don't layer wine use lutris or something else to run your stuffI use lutris.
I don't really remember why I installed this stuff
:T
just remove it and the rebase should work
š° š
also I assume switching to stable just removes any/all nvidia related crap like drivers
so not really a big difference other than saving storage space
yes switching from nvidia-open to just bazzite will remove the nvidia stuff
see this chart for which GPUs are exactly supported on each image:
https://docs.bazzite.gg/General/FAQ/#bazzite-image-chart
also rebase to a verified image so:
sudo rpm-ostree rebase ostree-image-signed:docker://ghcr.io/ublue-os/bazzite:stable
now I wonder why they had to make images specifically for ASUS laptops
oh. whats the difference between that and
rpm-ostree rebase ostree-unverified-registry:ghcr.io/ublue-os/bazzite:stable
cuz I just ran this command and was about to reboot
:T
but if I can reverse and choose to use the 'verified image' then I'll do that
ill try just running your command and see if it goes smoothly
surely it won't let me jank everything up running rpm-ostree rebase
twice
it's fine you can do that after the reboot or right now, it rebases you to a signed image, a little better for security
it will still work
yeah im back.
do I run
rpm-ostree reset
again to get rid of the nvidia stuff now that I'm on bazzite:stablegive me an rpm-ostree status again and I can say for sure

you don't have any nvidia stuff on your current image, the dot signifies your current deployment, the bottom one is just your last deployment, the 2nd one in grub, it gets cleaned up by itself
ooooo
okay. I thought that meant the files were still there, like an old kernal.
but yeah
if it cleans itself that is great
how do I manage uh,,,,,,, which video driver I have installed
on mint cinnamon it was like, its own app. driver manager
You shouldn't have to, those are included with Bazzite updates
The Nvidia image includes both the AMD/Intel Mesa drivers and the proprietary Nvidia drivers, the plain image you just rebased to just has Mesa drivers
and since Bazzite automatically handles updates in the background, you'll have the latest and greatest drivers every time you re/boot your PC
neat.
all good
I hope all the issues I had here with kwin crash and stuff doesn't persist with AMD open source stuff https://discord.com/channels/1072614816579063828/1339089130751131719
but otherwise I'm all good. thanks.
one other thing - how do I access like, radeon settings and stuff
the gui n stuff you'd use on windows
There isn't an equivalent AFAIK
ujust install-lact
will install an overclocking utility and MangoHUD is used for setting framerate caps in gamesThere isn't an equivalent AFAIK
šWhat are you trying to do, exactly?
There are equivalent tools for most things you'd want to configure, but not a single GUI utility
idk shit like this

all the other doodads that come with the radeon software
thanks. I've installed. will try it on boot.
Most of the driver software features like Anti-Lag won't be available (on Linux gaming latency is already lower)
CoreCtrl is probably the closest you can get to that
I wonder how I would get that running, since it isn't in discovery software manager
and I'd imagine running a piece of software like that - trying to adjust the bare system - shouldn't be run in a distrobox/virtual environment
so idk how else I'd get it to work
also LACT seems cool, but it only ever reads my fan speed at 0 RPM even though according to these curves it should be running in some capacity. idk if its a LACT software issue, or some issue with my new GPU not reporting the voltage/RPM or whatever somehow.

and now,,, im trying to figure out why it says 23GB's of RAM is being used

when all of this can't be anymore than like 8GBs

It's probably using a bunch of your ram for system cache. It's easier to see in
btop
in the terminal. e.g. in my scenario it looks like I only have 2.5GB free however, your available RAM matters more as cached RAM can be allocated to another use immediately.

I can understand utilizing free RAM as a cache or something
but crashing my games?
That's caused by the Out Of Memory Daemon it triggers when you completely run out of RAM. Your game might have a memory leak
my system is using 24GB's of RAM without the game open.
and the game crashed while trying to load into it
not much time to have a memory leak.
Then the game doesn't have a memory leak but something that is running on the system does
,,,,,,,,,,hghfhdfsjjdsjk
so,,, if a memory leak happens, the system monitor doesn't know which program it belongs to?
in btop, order the programs by memory usage by pressing the right arrow key a few times

You can start by closing steam completely if you playing a game in Lutris
Any idea what goofcordmain is?
GoofCord is a discord client
I'm talking to you with it
š°
floorp is my browser, tribler is for torrenting, and I just closed steam
really strange stuff. idk.
I'm sure a reboot will fix this issue, but I wanna figure out what caused the issue.
else it happen again :L

Yeah it's not really going down.
:(
try close goof cord completely and open it again see if that helps
it went down to 21.4GB RAM thats it lol

š¤· No clue what's holding it then. I need to go now. Hope you figure it out. Good luck š¤
š I'll see ya
on restart I'm only using 7GB of RAM

with all the same apps open*
