Wool washing liquid UK?

So today I spilled coffee on a grey wool sweater on the train, it's not too noticeable but I want to get it removed nonetheless. I looked online and i read somewhere that I could get dedicated wool washing products and I was wondering where I could find some in the UK.

I think you'll want to look for Woolite. Should be readily available in all major supermarkets here. You'll want to be careful washing wool in a machine to avoid shrinkage. You might be best hand washing depending on the garment

Yeah, that was what I had been concerned about. I had a favourite sweater ruined by it shrinking in the wash.

If you are going to put it in the machine make sure to select a wool cycle and put it to the coldest setting you can

IF your washing machine has the ability to do a cold wash with no spin cycle you might be able to stick in there, but handwash is safest use a tiny amount of detergent (bleach free non-bio is generally ok IME, but woolite or similar is better) other brands than woolite that are easy to find in the uk: ecover, persil (specifically they do a silk and wool liquid), nikwax, grangers. The latter two are probably in your local outdoor shop.

Listen to choppers advice, much more detailed than mine

Also, don’t use a dryer. you want to air dry, flat if possible . If it comes out of the wash super wet you can get some water out by wrapping it tightly in a towel, but don’t wring or twist it. Then lay it flat somewhere, ideal on a rack.

I thought Woolite changed their formula and is no longer a good detergent for wool. The most often recommended products are Eucalan or Soak, though shampoo can work too.
