Issues with Beacon Calibration and Input Shaper on VC 3.1 500
Good day,
I have a VC 3.1 500 with the Ratrig toolhead, Beacon H, Sherpa Micro, Rapido UHF 0.6, BTT Octopus, BTT 42 V1.2 Toolboard, CNC Gantry, and CNC motor mounts. However, I am struggling to get it to work properly.
The Beacon calibration only works very rarely, and I always get the error "Exceed Sample Tolerance." The bed mesh has a deviation of around 0.6mm— is this normal for this bed size, or is it too much? The first layer isn't good, especially on larger prints. The Shaper graphs also don’t seem correct. The graphs captured by the Beacon are significantly different from those recorded by the Toolboard.
The Shaper graphs from today were recorded with the Toolboard, while those from February 6th were recorded with the Beacon. No changes have been made in the meantime. Additionally, the belt tension test results from the Toolboard and the Beacon are also very different: the one with the largest peak at 130Hz is from the Beacon, and the one with the largest peak at 37Hz is from the Toolboard.
I have mounted the Toolboard vertically and have not rotated the sensor axes.
I have not found any mechanical issues, though I suspect there might be some. Has anyone else encountered similar problems, and if so, how were they resolved?
I configured the printer with RatOS v2.1 RC3, which worked very well.
Please help!

RatOS 2.x or 2.1?
Hey, im on v2.1.0-RC3-0-g9f8d27d3 Thanks!

Around 125 Hz, I would check belt path and if all the idlers are ok. Probably something rubbing. Either a belt or an idler in bad shape
Thank you for your help! I will check that since I still have quite a bit of stock on hand. Do you have any ideas on how I can calibrate the Beacon sensor and how to improve my Bedmesh?
Basicaly it is all about the frame…
Looks like you have a bow upwards on Y
Thanks, man, for pointing me in this direction. I’ve adjusted the frame, and my bed mesh range is now 0.361. However, beacon calibration is still not working. During calibration, when cooling down from 250°C to 150°C, I always get significant sample differences, resulting in exceeding the sample tolerance. Do you have any ideas on what I could do? Today, I checked all 3 Z motors and their motion systems but couldn’t find any issues. Could my probe be broken, or is the positioning wrong? Could the PEI sheet be incompatible with the beacon?

Just repeat the test until it works
this is just because the minimum standards for the beacon are pushed to a tiny distance. Anything more than that (0.05) will throw an error
I checked the belts today and noticed that they are rubbing against the extrusions. Do you have any idea why this might be happening? The lower plate is the original Retrig part, and the upper one is milled out of aluminum. When I hold them together, the holes align correctly. There is also no noticeable noise or anything unusual. Do you have any suggestions on what I might need to change?
