Fashion tips
hello guys! I desperately need any tips and literally anything that can help. I'm a uni student and i'm still stuck wearing plain hoodies and sweatpants, occasionally formal look. I prefer something that looks nice and it's actually comfortable. If the gender matters, I'm F. I'll appreciate any help.

do you have any pics of outfits you like? They don't need to be your outfits, just inspo pics you may have collected so far. include any you have & a general budget per item in $$, and if you're willing to shop online and secondhand.
These are some of the outfits I really like. I sometimes wear things like that, but the clothing items are so limited that it feels like i need to repeat 3 outfits for the entire year š

I also have no idea what style is this and I'm good with anything as long as it's not something expensive
expensive is a relative term, and honestly there's so much out there nobody can really choose for you.
This is a solid starting point, but could you provide a budget?
what's the typical range?
there is no typical range, and you're in a hobby space - some people can only spend $30 on pants, others will happily spend $300+
let's say 35 is the very max, i have other things to deal with :gordo:
Ngl i feel guilty when i buy smth over 25 but again we can not get everything we wish for
uniqlo and abercrombie & fitch on sale are decent places to start for similar styles. COS if youre willing to wait for deep discounts & potentially increase your budget a bit
ya carrion is giving u great advice, seconding everything. with ur budget & starting out, i also want to encourage you to buy slowly and prioritize collecting inspo and figuring out what you want. the images you posted is a great start; keep digging into why you like those looks, what specific pieces are throughlines, etc.
I'd recommend a sweatsuit, and being okay spending a little more, like $100. You get to wear sweats but it looks like you gave some thought and effort and coordinated
if you're open to buying secondhand, i feel like sites like grailed might have good options for things like wide grey sweatpants
Sweatsuit being the same color/fabric from the same manufacturer in both a sweatshirt and sweatpants
increase? and i thought I did smth there lol. If i were to increase my budget, what other places or websites would you suggest?
none of the inspo has anything near a sweatsuit
yeah was gonna say
telling someone with a tight budget to just spend more is also unhelpful but okay
look thru the sites I recommended first. They range in price from 30-80 so unless you're ready to go up quite a bit, i am unfortunately out of suggestions for this range
So far i like what looks kinda classy x sporty (?) I'm not sure if it has a name but it just looks this way. I've been trying to dress that way but at some point i just started to repeat the outfits + time consuming and no idea how to proceed that i just ended up wearing hoodies and sweatpants all the time
u dont need to put a name to it! i'm not sure either, i think paying attention to things like color, proportions and silhouette is more useful than labels šš¼
you can also post some fits you've worn before if you want specific feedback. sweatpants and hoodies are both in ur inspo, is there something you don't like about the ones you own? or just looking to branch out a bit?
i would also recommend looking for cos secondhand in that budget!
I mean a set looks great ngl but it's hard to find any thats looks good with a reasonable price especially if it's oversized. Women section mostly has the most cropped tops, and i wouldn't be lying if i say that some of my clothes are from the men section
they have a lot of the chunkier sweaters that you have in your inspo
i buy clothes from the mens section all the time haha
also when thrifting or going through ebay i like to look at mens stuff
yess, definitely
for the bigger coats in your inspo id save up to spend a lil more for something that's warmer and fits you better
makes it look fancy in a way, it is nice
but whereee
what shoes do you have? often that can change the vibe of an outfit way more than i'd expect
i also dont actually think you need a sweatsuit considering none of your inspo pics have one
and it can be harder to style intentionally w/o looking like you're going for a jog imo
I will definitely look into them. Thank you so muchh
In terms of the jackets uniqlo has some stuff that can fit that vibe. I would specifically look into their collabs with white mountaineering, engineered garments and Lemaire because they can achieve these looks for a cheaper price than their mainline counterparts @Nayt
pretty plain i'd say, typical black and grey
I like nike
i agree, i think if you wanna look more 'put together' the sweats outfits in your inspo the girls have very intentionally styled hair and make up
which gets you away from the workout vibe and more chill vibe
thank youu
best place for tops. The weather be freezing and i would only find tank tops in the women section, this isn't even an exaggeration btw

hell yeah. i'm also slightly tall and tops that are like 19 inches long are not doing it for me
it often goes on sale
I'll check it out. thank youu
the hairstyle is what saves me every time
i sure will
I ignore men's/women's sections and buy things if I like them and they're my measurements
that's the way, literally
the shoes are not really a problem in my case since i have different types. Although, since I moved out, idk where to get them
cool! i think you got a lot of good suggestions then and probably the next step is to try on some of the stuff you wear and ask yourself what you think is missing (or ask here)
imo if you feel good about your shoes i wouldn't worry about them rn
ofccc, I'll try them on and see how things look, the styling part ig
only other thing i'll add is if you're looking for inspiration fudge mag bobs in and out of this 'kinda sporty kinda put together' domain https://fudge.jp/fashion/
