SD card reader (LeGo)
Hey all, having some stutters, and whenever my game stutters, my cpu and GPU wattage go way down. I don't think it's thermal throttling, as my temps are ok and it only happens for a moment. This is only happening in a few games so far, specifically Palworld, witcher 3, and TF2. Both games are on my SD card. I'm playing on a Legion Go, if that helps.

Also, I haven't tried my entire installed library yet, just a few games. The only one it doesn't do this in is Tekken 8. Tekken runs perfectly.
Update, it's doing it in the fricking home menu lol
Update 2: I tried the same game (TF2) on the same sd card on my steam deck, which runs bazzite-deck 41 as well, no issues with it. It's something specific to my legion go.
Update 3: It was the hyuckin Decky FSR3 plugin, once I removed the mods and uninstalled it, Witcher 3 and Palworld work fine. TF2 still stutters tho. Not sure what that's about
Installing on my windows partition cause no one seems to know what's wrong with my tf2
Guys, I need help! I've always used Bizzite on my Legion Go, but recently I had to format it, and after downloading the new ISO, the games have been performing poorly! The TDP doesn't seem to work properly β even setting it to 30, it seems stuck at 20-25. When I adjust it quickly, it goes back to normal, but after a few seconds, the performance drops again.
Any tips?
About 3 days ago, I formatted my Legion Go! Bizzite was working perfectly. The last version I used was before the release of the Legion Go S and before the website updated the ROM to the new one, which made everything worse! I even stopped using it. Is anyone else facing this problem?
On Windows, everything is perfect, working beautifully with normal TDP! But on Bizzite, it's completely messed up!
put a bug report from handheld daemon here
after you tweak the tdp
are you sure its not 30W?
Antheas do you have any idea about my tf2 stutter issue? I would much prefer to play it on bazzite, if possible
No
Oof. Alright, thank you
Disable decky first for food measure
Clean your fan
Did you clean the fan?
This unit is pretty new, just over a month old. But I'll do so. Though, my temps are fine, and I'm on the powersave tdp preset
tf2 is notorious for being finicky on different hardware and systems going to be honest, have you tried using mastercomfig for tf2
I'll disable Decky and try it on my lunch break.
What's masterconfig?
Comfig*
Temps are fine when it overheats
Don't know why
basically necessary tf2 mod that fixes many performance options and settings, just look it up, try medium low settings, you just drag a vpk into your tf2 mods folder
would try that before anything else
I'll give that a shot. Thanks for the help guys!
I just hope I can get the files transferred back over from windows to bazzite all in my lunch.
Update, this didn't help. Gonna try disabling Decky
Disabling Decky also didn't help. This is what my frame time graph does when it lags. It's fine, then it lags, and it's back to fine, all within like a second or two

Oh
Very little clue then
Oh well. I'll just play on windows, ig. Thanks for your help
Could be a frame timings issue
Happens sometimes
Maybe, especially at 60hz
I mostly test vrr screens now
Hmm. Any way I could fix that? Maybe turn off frame limit and gamescope vsync, and let TF2 handle vsync?
Use 72hz
So another update on this, crash bandicoot 4 now does this
Is there any other way? A lot of the time I play docked, and my tv runs 60hz
I think I'm done, I'm giving up lol. Just refuses to work for almost any game.
Thanks for your help guys, sorry it went nowhere
I was testing portal 2 and got some stutters like you said
Weird. Does it happen to any other games for you?
No and it stopped now
does this only happen while docked at 60hz? try forcing max gpu clocks while doing so if you still have your bazzite install
oh i also didnt realize you were playing of an sdcard. try playing them off the main storage instead
Well that's gonna be difficult due to the way I set up my dual boot. I only allocated enough SSD storage to install bazzite and have some spare space, all my games were going to SD card.
And I don't think it's the sd card, cause I tried the same games, on the same sd card, formatted the same, just on my Steam Deck (which also runs bazzite)
This is not confidence inspiring
Yeah, really confusing to me
When in doubt, cap your GPU at 2200 is what I say
Hm. Well, if I decide to give bazzite another try I'll try that.
screw it. Reinstalling lol.
aye uh
small problem
my max is 1600mhz??
Oh nvm
I'm slow, the setting is different in hhd
Sorry for the ping
Nope, that didn't seem to help unfortunately
IM SO MAD
Its my SD card reader.
Moved the files over to my SSD because I partitioned a little more for bazzite
And uh
Problem solved.
Now the question is, what's the best way to get acceptable performance from my SD card
I'm so sorry for wasting y'all's time, I really didn't think it could be the reader, I thought it could only be the card itself
I'm gonna try switching to ext4 see if that helps
It's... Working
I can't believe it
It's running, and it's running almost perfectly
It also seemed to solve my issue with downloading games, though I didn't mention that here.
Haha, yeah. I was also shocked wtf was going on with the default btrfs file system. I don't understand why Bazzite doesn't default to ext4 for SD cards.
Yeah. All it took was 1 command, and then formatted from game mode and it just... Works
