Is turning off TLS verification on a tunnel safe / a good idea?

Hi, I am trying to self host a website though a cloudflare tunnel. this is my current stack: Flask > Nginx > Cloudflared My website currently only works when i have "Disable TLS verification" turned on on my tunnel. But is this in any way unsafe(r)? To be honest, I also don't really know what this system does so I though maybe someone can explain this to me a little? Thanks!

the TLS that would be turned off is only between cloudflared and the target url, if said target is on localhost or a secure LAN then yeah it doesnt matter at all if you dont verify it
