Can someone help me optimize my modpack/server?
I am only kind of tech savy, enough to put together my own modpack and make it run, but not knowledgeable enough to optimize it, or figure out why players keep getting kicked... (goodness, I can't even read crash reports...)
300+ mods, running on Fabric 1.20.1, the server is called CottageQuest
Please let me know if you would be willing to take a look at the modpack, and see if you see anything obvious that I am missing. Or any mod alternatives to get better performance, etc.

!spark I would recommend making a spark and send it here - we can see perf issues and mods list from there.
also, feel free to send any crash reports / logs here so we can take a look
Spark Profiler
Spark can be used to see why your server or client is lagging.
Users can share a spark report via
/spark profiler start --timeout 300 which creates a report after 5 minutes. The spark report is useful in debugging why your server is lagging, so ideally you should always provide one while asking for support.

ok, so this is a mod that I add to my client and the server, and then type a command to get a report?
just needed on server but yes run the command and get the report

server isnt lagging so cant do much with that info atm

what mod is that? I searched that in my modrinth modpack and I don't have one with that name...
not really sure what that means, sorry

it means for 1 player its using 11% of the server to run its task
which isnt good when you have more then 1 person online

1. Make sure you update modernfix
2. Have you pregenerated?
is there a way to fix how much it's taking up?
I have not pregenerated, and I'll make sure ModernFix is updated 🙂

either:
a) report it to the mod dev
b) remove the mod (take a backup first) and either find an alternative or remove it outright

also, my friend who also plays on the server keeps getting kicked randomly...I don't, but she does. any idea why?
This is her crash log, it says something about out of memory, but she is allocating 10 or 12 GB to the game, and doesn't have any major other appilcations running in the background...she also has a 3070 graphics card, so she isn't exactly a low end computer...

nope
though every once in a while i get kicked then when I try to log back in, i just fall out of the world and time out...but that doesn't happen very often.
For her, she can play for about 2 minutes, and then it crashes her entire game, but the server doesn't crash, just her
check with your friend if they added any extra client mods
I asked her that and she said she didn't add or remove anything
Do you notice any log spam when she joins the server (on the server console)?
haven't checked that, but I'll watch for that next time she joins
it’s definitely a peculiar issue
if you want, get them to just completely wipe their client and reinstall the mod pack
sometimes she can play for hours, and then other times it kicks her off every 2 minutes...

which makes me think it has nothing to do with the server, and something to do with her client
but I got nothin...I've troubleshooted every way that I know of
