Limit (Removed)
I been a user since this was released, and one thing that bothers me, is the limit (per month) on assets being added to content browser. I work with many projects, and like to set up favorites, this limit causes me so many headaches. FOR hobbyist or users who don't do alot of work( its not an issue) , as some of us freelances/contractors or very active indies do, this, effects us.. I don't understand why there is such a limit? one thing in development is control, we need it, to be effective, and having limits, prevents that. So, I for one, wish this limit was removed. (or much, much greater. ) This is one area that bothers me and causes me headaches, its even made me rethink about making my own content browser and ditch the Dash one. Due to this limit. (PS) The content brower is one reason I keep buying Dash, it keeps my work organized and easy to access but this limit is really a problem.

The limit is on AI Tagging not on adding assets? You can also add a custom API Key to remove the limit, you must understand that there is a real cost to using AI for tagging, so the limit in that makes sense. I have an Open AI key and have tagged over 100000 assets, and i think my additional cost is like 30 bucks to do it. Also a tip is to tag in an external project - then you can reuse the tagged assets
Hey!
Thanks for sharing your frustration, very valuable!
And as Bleak mentioned, there is a cost for us when users tag their assets, so if we did not have limits, we could end up loosing money per user 😦
Some tips:
* As Bleak mentioned you can set your own API key
* When computing, you can decide to uncheck the AI tagging option. This makes the assets useable, but you don't get the tags to search for it easily. See video 1
* We have increased the tagging limit once, and we will definitely do it again, as the API costs go down with better pricing/models from OpenAI
* If you send me your email in a DM, I can reset your monthly limit for this month, giving you some more tags! 🙂
* And yee re-using tagged assets from other projects is a good way to save tags, some more info here: https://docs.polygonflow.io/how-it-works/centralized-asset-browser#part-2-centralized-asset-browser
Centralized Asset Browser | Dash Documentation
With Dash's Content Browser, you can tag all your assets, making them easy to find and also create a Centralized Asset Browser. Meaning that you can access all your UE5 assets from any Unreal project.
Thanks I will give that a look,

I was s unware that you could remove the AI Tagging.. I could careless about it. I just like to use the browser. So Bleak, thanks for the reply as well, but I careless about AI or tagging...
Thanks Daniel that resolved my issue.... the untagging, of OPEN AI, I RECOMMEND to add that as a check mark/boolean. so its more visible to change.

for anyone else that wants to do this, just click the AI tag, itself.. at the bottom. it will disable it. I didnt see it. that you could make that change.
PS, as far as movi ng to other projects I have other tools I made in UE, to be able to easily save this to a JSON file and reimport, So being able to use between projects is free.. Freelancer/contractors get nickel and dimed, as it is , so developers, as it is, from Steam, every piece of software, our profits are small as it is...... . So, 30$ may not seem like a lot to you Bleak, I been a contractor/developer for 30 yrs, it adds up.. on top of everything else, I would rather not use it, which is fine with me. Glad there was a way to disable it. I would as I mention make it so we can see it easily in preferences. or a simple visual . (i'm a UX/UI Developer by trade) So this really needs to be visible to everyone to be able to make that change. it looked static . Some feed back. regarding Disabling AI tagging.
Problem resolved. Thanks again Daniel for your amazing, fast replies as always. its appreciated. Thanks for the feedback @Dark 🙌
I really agree, it can be more visible for sure
Once all is computed, in one project, you should be able too see the assets from that proj in other projs, so no need of exporting a JSON or anything. If you don get this aspect working, let me know. This is separate from the AI tagging
I export it for other reasons and other stuff beyond what your tool offers I have for years so not a big deal.. everything works as I like, expect so all good. Thanks Daniel.
ah okey okey, good🙌
let me know if I can help with anything else in the future
keep up the great work, its why I have bought your tools since Maya(plugin you used to have) not Dash. you do amazing work.
Thanks a ton for your support, means a lot!
And thank you for your kind words!
