LOD overdraws solid blocks

I play on a slow server and I like using free cam, so I do not use any overdraw prevention. In 2.1.0, that worked just fine. There are vanilla detailed blocks within the loaded chunks, with lower details beyond that. There are also no empty circles at the edge of loaded chunks (see pics 1&2). I recently upgraded from 2.1.0 to the newest 2.3.0 nightly build (4dd4bb9e; client only). I noticed that now, the lower details will be drawn over the detailed blocks even in loaded chunks, and there is still an empty circle when going beyond loaded chunks, even with overdraw prevention set to 0.0 (see pics 3&4). Is this intended behavior? Are there any workarounds I can use to achieve the effect I had in 2.1.0? Thanks in advance.

can you try turning off fade in dh's settings and see if that fixes your problems?

With some more testing, I've found: - Turning off fade solved the problem that LODs are rendered over loaded chunks, but still leaves an empty circle - Setting overdraw prevention to a small value such as 0.01 will make the circle smaller, but the fade effect comes back, even if set to false
