Repairing holes in fine merino wool (where to bring?)
So I know that repairing wool is usually darning, but the particular garment I have is a very fine merino wool that I honestly don't trust myself to repair on my own, at least with where my skills are now. I figured there must be somewhere I can take it, but I don't know if a normal tailor would be able to do it or if I need to bring it to a more specific place. (pics of the holes attached)

dry cleaner might be able to fix it
that said I darned a hole in my wool sweater like four years ago - poorly - with regular thread and its held pretty well even with washing. it just took a little extra time to secure everything at the end
ah yeah that's not too bad
I just feel like I should practice on an easier material before trying something like merino wool, I haven't done any sewing since we learned it in school
(i also have a more coarse knit sweater that has like an opening seam on the sleeve but I could probably fix that with a crochet hook, i trust myself with that)
you can sometimes send stuff for re-weaving, but there's relatively few places that can do it and as a result I suspect prices might be fairly high - dry cleaners etc can probably do a good enough job in this instance: https://www.ravefabricare.com/services/reweaving
Reweaving - Invisible Clothing Repair
We offer a reweaving service for those rips, tears, and holes in your favorite garments or household textiles. Reweaving is particularly useful for repairing moth holes in fine wools and is the most “invisible” form of repair available.
Yeah, I'm thinking the dry cleaner is the best route here. I've thought about going there for tailoring/alterations on jeans as well, but I suspect for that a dedicated tailor might be better
I’ll be honest depending on where the holes are and whether you can actually get enough material to work with, fuse-it powder works great I’ve been really happy with it for salvaging clothes I’d have otherwise had to toss
thats intriguing, idk how good it would be for this particular material
Practice your darning skills on an old sock. Or find an elderly relative to do it for you.
