Long pants for hot weather
I’m going backpacking soon in some hot and humid countries and I’m looking for some long pants.
I’ll be in some dusty places so ideally want something that I can wear in 30C+ heat that can also hide a bit of dirt. Open to synthetics and fast fashion - these trousers will get dirty and probably ripped or stained so nothing very expensive and/or delicate.
Ideally I’d like something that would look good with a both a tucked and untucked shirt. I’ll be cramming everything into a small backpack so linen is probably not going to work.
Requirements:
Airy/breathable material.
Straight/wide-ish cut
Machine washable
Difficult to crease
Dark colour
Mid or high rise
Up to £300 (ideally under £100)
Anyone have any ideas? I feel like I see a lot of women wearing pants that fit the description but I have no idea where they buy them. I’m open to trying women’s section if there is nothing that works for men

I took some gramicci ripstop pants through Vietnam. Both on very long hikes as well as through cave systems. Not the exact same model they have on their website but it’s comparable.
I travelled to Senegal a few years back and it’s hot but for cultural reasons pants are the expectation. I went to rei and tried on a bunch of hiking pants. They usually have some that don’t look “technical”
I ended up with two pairs that look like chinos but are breathable and wrinkle free. They even have some hidden zip pockets which was nice for cities
Patagonia Hampi pants.
Thanks will check all these out!
