Hi @yalcinos. I'm kapa.ai, your friendly support bot. I will try to answer your question by searching through the knowledge base.

Based on the information provided in the knowledge sources, I can offer some insights regarding Fly.io regions and potential alternatives for deploying your Wasp application, especially considering your focus on the Russia and Middle East markets.
Fly.io does indeed have a global network of regions, but you're correct in noting that there might be gaps in coverage for your target markets. According to the Wasp documentation on Fly.io regions, Fly.io currently offers 34 regions connected to a global Anycast network. However, the specific coverage for Russia and the Middle East is not detailed in the provided information.
Given your concerns, you have a few options to consider:
1. Check Fly.io's current regions: You can run
flyctl platform regions
to see the most up-to-date list of available regions. This might help you identify if there are any suitable locations for your target market.
2. Consider alternative providers: The Wasp documentation mentions that you can deploy your Wasp app components separately. For example, you could:
- Deploy the server on a different platform
- Use Netlify for the client
- Choose a separate database provider
3. Explore other full-stack options: The documentation mentions Railway as an alternative for deploying server, client, and database. This might be worth investigating for your use case.
4. Manual deployment: Wasp allows for manual deployment, which gives you the flexibility to choose providers that might have better coverage in your target regions.
It's important to note that the choice of hosting platform can indeed impact performance, especially for users in regions far from your deployed servers. If low latency is crucial for your application's success in the Russia and Middle East markets, you should prioritize finding a solution with good coverage in those areas.
Given the limited information about specific alternatives in the provided knowledge sources, I would recommend further research into cloud providers with strong presence in Russia and the Middle East. You might want to look into regional cloud providers or global providers with data centers in those areas.
Remember that Wasp's flexibility allows you to deploy your application components separately, so you can mix and match providers to achieve the best performance for your target markets.

Sorry @yalcinos, I seem to be having a bit of trouble. Don't worry though, I've pinged my support and they will try to fix me up! :technologist:
Perhaps try again in 15mins?I think you need to do a research because of sanctions put on Russia and vice-versa. (Russia blocks major US hosting provider companies.) Not sure where you're located, but I don't think that a US company can provide services to people in Russia atm, so it sounds like you should look into bare metal options for self-hosting the app.
Ahh that's good input thanks a lot. I am currently based on Canada but will do more research about Russia sansctions
Wohooo @yalcinos, you just became a Waspeteer level 1!
