Really good last day saved a mid ass pfw
Ok hold on I'm gonna post like all my highlights this is gonna take a while
Rick Owens
Hed Mayner
Y-3
Amiri
Acne Studios
Dries Van Noten
Ziggy Chen
Kid Super
Lu'u Dan
Sacai
Biggest disappointment was Yohji, and FCW had a bad runway which hurt cause they are a pet favorite
ok time to talk about my beautiful baby (sacai)
i thought the runway was pretty good and they did a good job of integrating a few new ideas (With the fur) into previous stuff in a pretty cohesive way
the split lapel blazers plus this thing were a cool new take on their whole decon blazers thing
didnt love the shoe choices but some of that is the contractual obligation to put ugly collabs on runway
the shoes suck
ill say it
and the next round of sacarhartt was insane
weakest part of it by far
yeah
the leather you posted rocked
really insane how much legs this collab has
i was expecting like 1-2 good capsules but theyre still finding cool stuff to do after like more than a year of stuff
fells very Nosferatu coded
honestly… i don’t get it lmao
Rick is doing a bit to annoy everyone who tries to take photos of his runway for like the last 3 seasons
also tried to kill the models like 2 seasons ago
Its amazing the heel turn people have done on amiri
Back in my day they were slp with bandanas and we hated it!!
i will be clear about amiri
i like their runway styling
their clothes suck
My take on it now is like if you love this you woulda loved Alessandro gucci but maybe i am too tainted by their previous work
Ok respectable carry on
tbf, i think thats a fair assessement of my taste
i have always liked gaudy menswear
You and me both brother
i like some of allessandro gucci he has his highs
hes kinda like jr smith his job is to put basketballs in the air and sometimes they go in
He had like an untouchable run imo
Firing him was such an insane mistake
Even when people grew critical of him it was like this is all the amazing stuff weve already seen wheres the new stuff
my take is that numbers in china aside they were becoming anxious about him becoming guccis brand identity
I believe this is correct yeah
i think thats why SdS was sticking so closely to the tom ford gucci script when he replaced him
even though it was boring
And maybe they were right but the reason its such a flop now is that he was already there
Gucci looked iconic in a way that could not be taken back haha
Anyways sorry this is so irrelevant to the totd
yeah i think they made this decision ten years too late if they wanted to stop this
its fine smiles already posted the whole week
now all we can do is argue
others should post runways they liked
i did not cover everything forsure
ik im fucking with you
I need a Sacai x Carhartt jacket so fucking bad
What ive seen of kikos collection was really good i will say
Otherwise i like that john turturro walked for zegna that was my big takeaway this year
I went hey neat thats john turturro
I liked quite a few of the pieces, but their styling was boring
ya i didn't like kiko's runway but i could see picking up some of those pieces as one offs
i keep liking amiri runways and idk why
im certainly not predisposed to it
but their runway styling is really good
if you ever touch their clothes though its so gross
but ya love their runway styling
I thought that Kolors styling was not great either, but there was quite a few individual pieces I liked
Which means the brand is boring
If it’s a runway show and I’m like “I could rock that,” you know it’s boring
I think its neat!!
cdgh+ was kind of similar to what you guys are saying about kiko for me where the looks were ugly but i liked quite a lot of the pieces
ugly hats notwithstanding
the hats are so bad
shoes are horrible too
shoes are wild id be down to own these in black
i bet they look cool irl
Well they come in black so you should go for it
yeah these r rad sorry
The andrew garfield hot pants w the cdg ‘go stand in the corner’s
(I also like the shoes)
they match the other weird ass cdg derbies
i find that i need a little heel to wear those so maybe not otherwise i would
idk how andy did it hes an inch shorter than me
Ye they look best w a heel
If they’re kids love gaite they’ll probably be a billion dollars again
shut up heckle youre breaking my immersion
in my head im running around in them rn
Me in my head in this jacket
i wonder if thats all one piece or if its layered
looking at the collar im guessing one piece
I’m really hoping it’s one piece
i think ur wish will come true
It’ll probably be like $3k and then I will cry
i think you are correct here also
maybe maybe maybe 2k
because its the carhartt collab
If it’s under $2500 I would probably seriously consider it
Ok i still think theyre funny but i have turned against them
Comme des McDonalds
could hit a sick ass Michael Jackson lean in these
I changed my mind, you should buy them
imagine doing pushups in these
Me in my new cdgs
This collaboration is truly utilitarian. Never seen a lineup of derbies that provides such stability to the wearer.
Can’t push this guy over either
insane sacaiflation going on here but if this ends up being the case ill give you a ping
This is probably the fact that I was a teen in the Margiela sweater era affecting my judgment but I also need this Kolor vest and mittens
maybe sometimes good maybe sometimes shit
its kinda comical how much better y-3 is personally lmao
Ok glad im not the only person who didnt like the yohji runway at all, the y3 stuff stunted on the mainline heavy
The puffer shit just didnt work for me
it was universally shit on as far as i saw when it came out lol
very very disappointing
i love how reading anything about cdg shirt collections is always "it sucked and i had to wake up fucking early for this shit. it's too fucking early!!!"
sean suen baybee
emporio armani had a few gems, particularly the velvet pinstripe which sounds silly but looks incredible
a lot of fur across the board though...idk how i feel about that
not as a question on if i like real fur because i don't, but if/how that would distill to mass market
I have seen a lot of ppl wear thrifted fur coats recently...
imo in matters of sustainability and ethics wearing secondhand furs is preferable to new (hence why buying used down jackets is also good)
i feel like it's hard to parse the connotations from the sourcing though - you're likely not gonna see much difference visually between fur that's a few years old vs a few decades old unless close up; this is separate from aesthetics, as i've seen good fits with fur in fashion week and in general (and othet animal products e.g. leather) but it's a sticking point for me
Honestly, i don’t have a huge objection to sustainably sourced fur
As a person who eats meat, I’d rather that an animal be fully used rather than there be waste. If sourced sustainable it’s a great insulator
Mass farming I do take issue with, though
Most popular fashion furs are not byproducts of meat production though
Agreed, but I think a trend of thrifting fur can lead to fur becoming a more desirable clothing choice in the long run.
I think cordovan prolly isn't either?
gonna necro this but 3.paradis is yet again impressive and wide reaching despite being Not My Bag (fully)
