Bazzite goes to sleep while I'm in a discord voice call
Bazzite keeps dimming the screen, locking, and going to sleep while I'm in a voice call. I don't want it to. It should be able to count the microphone as a user input, or count as constantly active when connected to voice. Ideally I'd like this to apply to any teleconferencing apps such as Zoom or Teams so that this can be avoided during work meetings and interviews too.

Thank you. I guess what I want isn't possible until Discord fixes their shit.

if the application itself has not marked itself as a media application (or similar), you can force it to be one by using
systemd-inhibit
essentially you would have to change the shortcuts so they run systemd-inhibit whatever the command to run the application is
for more info see systemd-inhibit --help
If I use that, will it mean Discord merely being open inhibits sleep? Or just when I'm in a call?
merely being open
if you want it smarter the developer of the application has to mark it correctly when you enter/leave calls
And I take it Discord has not, and I can't do so manually?
doing it manually would just have a script that opens anything with systemd-inhibit and when youre done you close the program

based on how long it took for us to get wayland screensharing, maybe in 2030?
would have to report the lack of the feature to them though
Discord refuses to listen when I say I don't want to be asked how My call went, and now that'll come in handy
I'm gonna spam their butts with this complaint
being an ass will get you nowhere
There's nothing assy about spamming an app's feedback popups with the same issue a hundred times.
I'm sure they use data analytics to sort the feedback rather than reading each one
