Experiences with replacing overcoat linings?

So I finally started wearing the coat seen in this WAYWT https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1116800072093532191/1330302949657804930 after a much-needed dry cleaning. It looks and feels great overall; fit is perfect. Thing is, the lining is somewhat torn and it's only a quarter lining in the first place. I'm not familiar with the cost/process of getting a tailor to replace the lining of an overcoat, let alone converting it to a full lining, but is this realistic to do? I read online it's generally a more expensive alteration (like the cost of labor might put it at close to $300 alone), and that I might be asked to source my own fabric (not a huge problem tbh). Anyone know more about this than I can gather from a couple of old reddit comments or is this mostly accurate?

I've had it done. Requires some skill esp since it wasn't fully lined (where they could rip that out and just remake or repair). Essentially they need to make a version of the pattern by hand. It can be a bit sloppy since it's unseen. $300 would be reasonable even if you supplied fabric

patching the existing lining is usually not super expensive but if you want to replace or fully line it, the cost is high due to time + labor

will also mess with the fit and drape since the OG pattern likely has no ease built into it for a lining

If you’re fixing the torn lining it’ll be cheap an easy, is there a reason you want a full liner?
