Disabling ZRAM and making a swap partition in storage
TL;DR: Will disabling zRAM and using a swap partition instead screw up anything on Bazzite Kinoite?
On the Steamdeck, we're using ZRAM (Swapfile on compressed RAMDisk), but in one of my use-cases, which is ALVR and VRChat, I'm encountering problems.
My Steamdeck does run it well, but that's if it actually runs. I noticed if too many players are in (even with "Poor and Below" avatars hidden), the system RAM (all 16 gigabytes) will fill up and cause the system to hang indefinitely. This is with ZRAM on. Thus, for my use case, ZRAM needs to go.
I know how to go about doing this with a normal linux install, but I am not sure if doing this on an Atomic install will screw up anything.
I've already tried making a swapfile as to not bother with a swap partition but that did not work (not in /var, /etc, or in the root directory; Swapon just didn't like it), so that's a wash. Any ideas?

We recommend you don't do that
(Will let this simmer for a bit, gotta go to my next class)
Faaaaiirrr enough then, but then again zRAM is NOT working, so we need to do it anyway.
I don't care if it will cause problems. I will find a way to solve them.
Oh btw zRAM is completely filled at idle anyway so.. I need to use swap
Unable to reproduce, just checked my SD OLED and LegionGo, 0kb of swap at idle on the desktop
Again, no help will be provided for this because we do not recommend you do it. Swap is terrible for games.
Well then, but at the minimum: Will repartitioning Bazzite (shrinking the main partition) screw up anything?
as long as you do it from a LiveCD, no
partiton must be unmounted to shrink
