How can I run DH + Essential mod together? When I install Essential mod, it disables it
If somebody could please help me, essential mod is basically disabling all other mods in my mods folder for some odd reason.

Just to be clear, I installed essential using the installer, I didn't drag and drop it
there is an essential installer?
okay first step is to not use that
literally got it from their webpage
dont send exe's please
okay sorry
I deleted my minecraft + appdata folder and reinstalled it
turns out essential is messing up with the game mods folder
it disables mods
It took me hours to figure this out
why do you need essential? to invite people to your singleplayer world?
yeah plus it brings some UI/screenshot stuff which is nice tbh
what UI/screenshot stuff?
because you can easily replace the singleplayer inviting with another mod called e4mc
like when I press F2 it shows you a gallery instead of the usual minecraft stuff
it's just more neat
that's only 1 of the benefits
https://modrinth.com/mod/screenshot-viewer
like that?
I will try to use this instead
if that doesn't work I will try yours
btw you were very quick to reply, I highly appreciate that
np!
never seen such response times before
lol
oh wow
crazy how they don't provide an uninstaller
deleted the folders inside installations
there is nothing inside mods
if you ever see a minecraft mod installer, dont use it. most of them are crap
okay
I hope it didn't corrupt my game or smth
lets hope not
btw may I ask you, what amount of RAM should I allocate for DH to work well?
I have 32 total, but I've heard that adding too much can cause problems
using DH 2.2.1 i presume?
that is true
yes
try around 8-12
I currently allocated 12
-Xmx12G -XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions -XX:+UseG1GC -XX:G1NewSizePercent=20 -XX:G1ReservePercent=20 -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=50 -XX:G1HeapRegionSize=32M
should pair fine with a 12 core cpu I hope
i dont know about the java args, im not an expert in those, but yea 12 should be good
mods are not loading
I reinstalled the fabric api
didn't fix
F
I made a backup of my mods prior to adding essentials
I will try that
okay essentials basically broke the installation or smth because even when I remove it the mods are not loading
are you using the normal minecraft launcher?
is this the normal one?
yes
maybe try with a third party launcher instead, like the modrinth app
the problem is I want to get rid of all the essential files
hmm perhaps it would be quicker if I just reinstall and delete .minecraft from appdata
if you use the modrinth app you wont have to touch those files again
does it automatically clean up the files upon uninstalling?
the minecraft launcher? no
I mean the modrinth
i dont know
but in the modrinth app you can make seperate minecraft instances. if one instance is broken, you throw it away and make a new one
is the fabric loader mod folder supposed to contain mods? I don't mean manually adding them, but usually when it works
it's empty
okay your .minecraft folder is really broken i think
yeah essentials is the root cause
you shouldnt have a .minecraft/installations/fabric-loader-1.21.1 folder
it basically deletes your mod folder and only puts essentials inside
really
I have an idea how to fix this
so what do you want. go the easy route and just use the modrinth app instead, or try to fix the minecraft launcher
I will create a new fabric snapshot basically and replace my world data files with the new one
that sounds like youll just make it worse
i highly recommend using the modrinth app instead
I understand, but what are the benefits?
clean UI, multiple instances, add mods directly from the launcher
doesnt take a *** minute to start up
my mods are working now
all I did was reinstall fabric and delete the old snapshot
it's empty as you can see
huh okay
now dont use the installer to install essential
Modrinth
Essential Mod - Minecraft Mod
The best way to play Minecraft. Enhanced Minecraft features in one simple mod. Fast, friendly, and for everyone!
use that instead
I don't know why all of this happened I'll be honest
or better yet, use e4mc instead of essential
because mod installers are crap
I don't really mess with files much and change stuff
is this good?
yep looks fine
I changed 128 to 256 and put cpu to aggressive
I'm sorry about the bot warnings, I am not used to not being able to say minor language
oh well
all is working now
thank you
np!
the problem was that BAD Essential installer
to summarize it
yep
bad installer from a bad mod
that installer literally replaces ALL mods and installs itself
and adds installation file
it stops minecraft from recognizing all mods
the funny part is that essential is not even added to the mods folder itself
it's crazy
yea its unbelievable how incredibly stupid those installers are
meant to make the process easier
but really only make it harder
this is why I use essentials tbh
I am just testing it here
then use this one
doesnt come with all those crap cosmetics
I have 1 minor issue remaining
I will right now actually
what is it?
I can't get rivatuner to hook to minecraft
are you using sodium?\
I'd like to see because I am running DH + shaders
yeah
i dont think sodium and rivatuner like each other very much
ah
GitHub
Known Issues
A Minecraft mod designed to improve frame rates and reduce micro-stutter - CaffeineMC/sodium
so with DH, I basically do not change the default render distance, I only change the LOD distance of DH settings.
yes
rivatuner worked now
somehow
lol odd
but the frametime graph is painful
because you put cpu load on agressive
it improved a bit now
but in general during gameplay, it doesn't feel smooth
I am running DH compatible shaders only
currently photon
reduce the cpu load preset and itll run smoother
are you sure? It's not maxed out, cpu is 50-70% at most
yes
cpu usage is complicated
done
My issue is fixed so I guess we can close this support file
thank you again
np!
you can close it by doing this
I think it's closed now
have a nice day
you too!
