Thursday boot alternative

I see a lot of Thursday boot slander so if anyone knows of an alternative would be much appreciated. i like the relaxed suede. Most expensive shoe makers have a much more serious chukka

Budget is key. But if we are going in a similar price range Jim green has a vellie which is a chukka. Full stitch down construction and resolable, plus affordable at $130 usd

Blkbrd, Jack Erwin, Meermin have similarly priced Chukkas. What is the budget and what aspects are key? Is it the suede? Is it the casualness? Are crepe, leather, lug, or leather sole all fine? I probably have a lot of other options Rhodes (Huckberry) chukkas are also in similar price range If you can go up to $400, that opens up Trickers Aldo (on sale right now), Myrqvist, Velasca, Covbler Union, Adelante, Morjas, Astorflex Greenflex Rubber Sole, Parkhurst, Beckett Simonon (closer price-wise to Thursday) which all have relatively similar options without crepe soles. Crepe/lug soles opens up a ton more options but I left them out because it is a different look.

I’m kinda new to menswear, thanks for mentioning crepe/lug soles I think I do like those much more I think my style combines elements of cozymax and smart casual, so they fit quite nicely. I have a pair of Allen Edmonds park avenues and the leather outsole is really tough to walk and break in

If comfort with minimal break in is key, crepe or gumlite is the answer. I have owned the Thursday chukka you posted, and the Thursday Dainite is one of the most brutal soles to walk on in my opinion, and it never breaks in. There are a ton of adequate cheaper crepe sole options, but I think Astorflex Greenflex or Velasca Umbrelee are the best bang for the buck among higher quality options. Sanders is also good but a little different. At a higher price points, Drake’s Clifford or Alden are the goats for classic suede chukkas. Oficine creative also has an interesting take for something less classical.
