idk what ur tought but when there is dene or something like that in the end it mean not double bond but 2 groups

Ethylene is vic that adjacent same groups (1,2 dichloro) while ethylidene is geminal (meaning twins) with same groups on same carbon (1,1 dichloro) (With CH2Cl2 being methylene and not methylidene)
