Key Details for SMMDebug-2025-01-14-06-47-00.zip
triggered by @Bushido Brownhere is the fix I mentioned https://discord.com/channels/555424930502541343/1298114280201392160
the new post title acts as a search too
yeah i clicked on the file they uploaded but it doesn't exist
oh, guess it got cleaned out
@Mircea (Area Actions) is there an updated version with that fix?
That fix (I think you linked to the wrong post) is in the current release
ah so in other words I am SOL?
Can you check if there's a proxy set in SMM settings?
And reset it, if the button is not grayed out
its empty
ill switch to gnome to double check real quick
yeap works in gnome
no connection in kde plasma
If you turn mods off and on, does that work? Even if the mods list in the UI doesn't load
works fine in gnome
mods loaded fine in kde but just couldnt connect to ficsit.app
So on KDE turning mods off and on worked?
give me a sec ill double check
turning them off and on works still no connection
Ok, so it's only an issue in webkit, that's easier to debug
I can build a debug version, or you can build one yourself https://github.com/satisfactorymodding/SatisfactoryModManager?tab=readme-ov-file#development
just fyi im new to linux i just switched yesterday
i can build a table, unless i can get debug version materials from home depot...
Lol
Took me 3 tries to remember how to build it for linux on windows, but got it working
Are you using the appimage or the standalone build?
appimage
didnt even get an option for a standalone build
The standalone one is only in the github releases I think, smm.ficsit.app redirects to the appimage because it's universal and doesn't require installing 2 more dependencies that may or may not be available on your distro version (realistically, only the oldest still supported versions of ubuntu and debian don't have it, but that's still a fair chunk of users)
I did just install libwebkit2gtk-4.1
ok uh i just tried the one downloaded from github and it works
The one from github meaning the standalone build?
yeah
sorry for the waste of time, thanks for your help
If I had a nickel for every time the appimage didn't work for no apparent reason...
Well, it's not a waste of time, it's still an unresolved issue, someone else might run into this later
The debug build finally finished if you still want to try it. You'd have check the network tab in the devtools (should open automatically in the debug build) to see what error it gets when connecting to ficsit.app
the appimage you sent also works
What
ill close it to double check but yeah
works jhust like the standalone, only the one i got straight from the official site doesnt work
Try the appimage from the github release
that one doesnt work
At least it's consistent I guess
maybe they didnt update it since that last time you fixed it
It's been fixed since 3.0.1
And what I built locally is the same 3.0.3 with a few extra fixes that could not have affected this
well... the proof is in the pudding
i can take screenshots if you need
I'm guessing there's some difference in my local build environment and the CI build environment, but that's going to be a pain to debug
Document in read me?
It's just wsl shenannigans with my setup
